Aaaaaand obviously Penelope had failed to prove her point. That fact became glaringly obvious when Gale smiled that smile and pulled her closer. Of course, Gale being Gale, she failed to really be bothered by that, and though she still had some hesitations about the gala, he had made her smile and her efforts to convince him had taken away the worst jitters.
“You, Mister Rosier,” she said with a smirk, “are incorrigible and very well aware that that wasn’t the point I was trying to make.” Still she leaned in to kiss him, smiling against his lips before she leaned back against his shoulder so she could see his face. “And we should be getting back to work.” Personally, she had a lot to do today in order for her to take the next day off completely. “Come find me when you’re ready to go home?”
