Evening had always been Cissa's favorite time of the day. She loved to sit in her study as the sun was setting, since the study windows faced west and the patterns of light that streamed across the room were beautiful.
She, Richard, and Alyssa had taken an early supper that night, since Richard was working night shift at the hospital for the next few weeks, but still wanted to spend time with Cissa. So once Alyssa had been put in her room under the care of an elf, Cissa said goodbye to her boyfriend and retreated to her study for an evening of brandy and reading.
