Both sides lost. Neither side won. On 2 May 1998, though Voldemort met his demise, the wizarding world was left both unbalanced and without a leader. Regardless of Harry Potter's victory, the Death Eaters didn't back down, and pushed back strong at the Battle of Hogwarts. After years of power passing back and forth between the dark and the light, the world is still in flux with a new Death Eater regime in place, and their new leader, Antonin Dolohov, at its head. Among the many Death Eater changes are the reinstatement of the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, and the take-over of both the Ministry of Magic and the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They have also stepped up attacks of Muggles in their own world in an attempt to overwhelm those who resist the new government, thinking that with the more atrocities that are committed, the more likely it is that the rebels will slip up, and therefore, be easier to catch. Regardless of all the evil's committed by the government though, the Order of the Phoenix remains a strong, yet very underground organization. Led by those who survived the Battle of Hogwarts, they are actively recruiting like the Death Eaters, though admittedly in a more low key manner.

It's 1999 and Wizarding Britain is a very different place. Voldemort controls a puppet Ministry and is seeking to expand his grasp into Europe and, eventually, the world. But he is not unopposed. There are many resistance groups working to keep him from accomplishing his goal and, among these, there is one that stands out from the crowd: The Order of the Phoenix.
Secreting Muggleborns out of the country to keep them from enduring the horrors of Ministry-run "work camps", the Order is fighting a losing battle. Their last hope lies with a carefully guarded secret: The identity and location of The Prophesied One.
Sic Infit explores the possibilities of what could have happened had James and Lily Potter stuck with Sirius as their Secret Keeper. What could have happened if Harry had never become The Boy Who Lived? What if Lord Voldemort had actually won?
