Neville looked up from Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean. The idea wouldn't go away, and he probably wouldn't have a better opportunity to act on it--Ron and Harry were out of the room doing whatever they did with Hermione, and Seamus and Dean had detention for screwing around in Charms. I won't look in his trunk, but if it's in his desk--it'd be just like whoever took the last quill out of my desk yesterday.

He drew open the desk--yes, there it was. Neville pulled out the Viktor Krum action figure Ron had brought back from the Quidditch World Cup. Upon being exposed to the light, the toy stirred and stretched in Neville's hand.

Neville was envious that his roommates had had the opportunity to go to the Quidditch World Cup that summer. Partly because Neville genuinely enjoyed the sport as a spectator, if not as a participant. But also because the press coverage after the World Cup final--an interview with Viktor Krum on the WWN, Krum's picture on the front page of the Prophet--had given Neville the answer to the questions raised by his fancies and fleeting thoughts during the last couple of years. Those dreams last year about Professor Lupin were not just about gratitude for the extra help with his DADA classes.

Neville sank down onto his bed and drew the curtains. Seamus might have no problems with being caught wanking, but, well.
