As a lighter post-Hogwarts game set in 2002 and interested in developing the lives of characters several years after the war, we already have over 30 taken characters but are looking for some key figures to further flesh out our cast. If you are looking for a game with an experienced, creative and a friendly collection of writers who have a good grasp of how interpersonal dynamics between characters work, and a couple of mods who encourage player-initiated plots and who aren't totally inflexible and nitpicky and won't make you replace your PB because your character is 23 years old and the actor looks more like 22 years and 5 months or has appeared in a film maybe five people watched once and is therefore too famous and so forth, you may be interested in checking us out.
We're due to start on July 1, 2008 and still have many colourful characters up for grabs. The post on current flats (though this can be negotiable) can be found here, with more on the premise and the different styles of flats available here. Below is some information on characters we're actively looking for and ideas of how they could work in the game.
Michael Corner: Currently he has two flatmates; Eddie Carmichael, who is a cool, laid-back and seemingly lackadaisical dude (though he does actually work quite hard) and Laura Madley, who is not a dude, not cool, not lackadaisical and certainly not laid-back. Poor Ed definitely needs allies against Laura, and possibly someone who like him isn't adverse to messing with her head from time-to-time. The males in the building who are interested in the very eligible Cho Chang also need a one-time paramour whose presence may put the squeeze on them to actually do something about their feelings.
Justin Finch-Fletchley: While the cast in general is very well-rounded, we at this moment only have one Muggleborn character (Dean Thomas in this universe has found out by now that he is actually a halfblood). And with the four years since the Battle of Hogwarts giving characters likely to be directly affected by blood prejudice some recovery time, we're curious to hear more about how such characters got on both during and after the war. Plus as a Muggleborn from the upper classes who in his original world was in a position equivocal to the old, wealthy pureblood families, a Justin might lend a fresh perspective to our game.
Luna Lovegood: Luna as a flatmate. Enough said. Come on, this is so full of potential! Plus with Hannah Abbott, Neville Longbottom and Dennis Creevey (the last two also yet to be cast) as roomies in her particular abode, she's in one of the nicer flats in the place. Lucky girl.
Cormac McLaggen: The female muses are urging us to "please, please don't" request him. Their players are saying "BRING ON THE PAIN!" Someone who has friends in high places and canonically seems to have missed a few crucial classes when it comes to chivalric conduct, Cormac is currently lounging about with the uncast Marcus Flint in one of the luxury upstairs flats. "Chav Central," we think this one should be called. And as our Cho Chang has male friends who if they were any more overprotective would have Portkeyed her to a convent by now, only an idiot would make such a move on her. We suspect Cormac is up to the task.
Zacharias Smith: Again, someone who wouldn't exactly be high on most people's lists of desirable housemates. Our snub-nosed and whingey Hufflepuff would be living with Slytherins Adrian Pucey and Sasha Capper, whose application is still in progress but who we've been told is a sassy professional Quidditch player representative and more than capable of putting him in his place. In canon Zacharias appears to be one of the more interesting and colourful minor characters, and after his runner from the Battle of Hogwarts, a skilled player would have plenty to work from where he is concerned. He would also have several excellently written house and yearmates in the forms of Hannah, Megan, Susan and Ernie Macmillan to interact with.
Romilda Vane: Again someone we'd like to see in the place for antagonistic purposes, the Gryffindor with a tendency towards older men that manifests itself in rather disturbing ways is living with housemates Jack Sloper and Andrew Kirke. There's so many interesting possibilities for this girl. Gossip columnist? Love Potions brewer? You tell us.
If you have played/are interested in playing any of the above (or anyone else listed on the flats page), email the mods or place a hold here and then proceed to the application page. We hope to hear from you soon!
