Six degrees of separation (also referred to as the "Human Web") refers to the idea that everyone is on average approximately six steps away from any other person on Earth, so that a chain of, "a friend of a friend" statements can be made, on average, to connect any two people in six steps or fewer.

In December 2005, Wizarding Great Britain is finally ready to move on from the events of May 1998. Hogwarts reconstruction has been completed, old shops have been restored and reopened and new shops have popped up in Wizarding towns. The community and commerce is thriving once more.

However, old prejudices die hard. School rivalries still ring true, Pureblood Supremecists still hold their views with utmost importance and Muggleborn Rights Activists still fight for complete equality. Not everyone gets along and this is no perfect world. Where will you fit in? Will you be the Boy Hero having drinks at a local pub with the Slytherin Prince? Will you be the Bubbling Badger secretly pining after the Raven Seeker? Will you be the Brawny Sidekick struggling to shed pretense in order to strike up a friendship with the Bookish Brunette?

Wherever you fit in, just remember that we are all connected. Where rivalries, prejudices, romances and friendships run, our steps from one person to the next run closer and deeper.

Expelliarmus: A Deathly Hallows RPG [18 Dec 2010|05:05pm]

NEEDED: Luna Lovegood, Neville Longbottom, Bill Weasley, Fred Weasley, George Weasley, and many more students, professors, and Death Eaters!

Expelliarmus!
A Deathly Hallows Role Playing Game;;

The Dark Lord Voldemort is truly ascending over the wizarding world; gradually taking over the Ministry of Magic, placing the supposed murderer Snape as Headmaster at Hogwarts, and having the whole of the magical world on the search of Undesirable Number One, who is truly known as Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived.

After a disastrous attempt to bring Harry Potter to the Weasley home, the Order of the Phoenix decide to lay low, which is difficult when there are plans to be made for the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour.

With Harry Potter's seventeenth birthday come and gone, leaving the trio with some confusing memorials from the late Professor Dumbledore, all they want to do is plan their search for the Horcruxes. But, it's hard to leave the comfort of home on such an uncertain and undoubtedly perilous journey.

Finally setting a date, they decide to leave the day after the wedding, hoping all goes according to plan…

~~

This game is set within the Deathly Hallows timeline, but what happens next will be of our own making. The story begins the day before the big wedding as the trio prepares for the arduous journey ahead, while the rest of the house is in a fuss over the event.

This is a perilous time for every witch and wizard, no matter whether they have already chosen a loyalty or resist getting any more involved than they absolutely must. As the Centaurs read in the fires and stars, the time between two wars ended many months ago, and now as the winter holidays draw to a close and lies are spoken just as often and as acceptably as truth, witches and wizards across Britain and beyond will find their character tested as they face the troubles of outright war.

The moderators are seeking players eager to write collaboratively with one another, who want a highly active yet short-term game where they can richly bring a character or two fully to life during some of their most defining moments. Could this be you?

The Crescent City Institute of Magic has a long history of educating the best and brightest Witches and Wizards in the United States. Located on the grounds of an old plantation near New Orleans, CCI has a culture shaped both by its students and faculty, as well as by the close proximity of New Orleans itself.

CCI has been through changes in recent years. Hurricane Katrina hit the school hard, as it did all of the region. Many upperclassmen will remember the previous headmaster’s tragic death during the storm as he tried to help evacuate the school.

As the new school year begins, more changes are in store. Adversaries old and new are drawn to New Orleans like moths to a flame, and strange…things…abound. One thing is for certain: this year, petty high school drama will be the least of anyone’s concerns…
