 Hello!

The Harry Potter Index now has 60 watchers! :-) So welcome, to all new people.

Recently I changed the category, General Discussion, so that it is now just called General. Everything that was under that heading before can stay there but this means that anything that doesn't fit elsewhere can go there. So if you have a Wizard Rock Asylum, a Meta Asylum, a discussion Asylum, an Asylum making fun of bad fic, or anything else you can think of - it can go in General.

The more people that see The Index, the more useful it becomes, so please please pimp us to your flist or put a link to us on your profile. To do this you can use a banner if you wish, which you can find here: Banner. If you'd like to use a 100 x 50 button as suggested by [info]brimac13 then you can find some amazing ones that she made here. Thank you so much [info]brimac13! :-) I also designed two buttons and you can find them below the cut.

 Hello!

I've had a request to make a new category for Wizard Wrock. Now I'm not sure that it would be used enough to make this workable but I thought I'd ask your opinion.

Another option would be to change the General Discussion category into just General. This category would still include discussion but could also include Wrock, Meta, and anything that doesn't fit anywhere else.

So please comment and tell me your opinion. Do we need a Wrock category? Change the General Discussion category into General? Or a totally new category that I've missed? All input is greatly appreciated. If you have a suggestion/comment on an unrelated issue feel free to tell me. :-)

Also, I have just made a banner for you to display in your profile or to use to pimp [info]hp_index to your flist should you so wish. See below the cut. If you'd like to use your superior graphic skills to make [info]hp_index a nicer banner feel free! I'd love to use it. :-)

 Welcome to the Harry Potter Index!

I thought it might be useful to have an asylum dedicated to helping people find their way around the Insane Journal Harry Potter fandom.

Specifically to help you find the HP related asylum that is dedicated to your favourite part of the fandom, be it fan-fic, art, discussion or something more specific.

Before joining or posting to any asylums please read the user information page for that asylum for more detailed information.

We do not list personal fanfic/icon/fanart journals.

We do not list Role-Play asylums.

How this works:

1.First join [info]hp_index.

You post to [info]hp_index using the posting guide below.

If you have more then one asylum to add it is fine to put them in the same post but please use a cut for huge posts. :-)

2.I add your asylum to the master list of asylums which is kept on [info]hp_indexarchive.

You can watch [info]hp_indexarchive but you can not join or post to it. This is to keep it solely for the master list and leave it easy to read and find what you are looking for.


Asylums will be listed under one of the following categories:

General Discussion.

News.

Art.

Icons.

The HP films.

Fan-fiction.

Pairings/Ships.

Specific Characters or Groups.

Conventions/Meetups.

3.Once there are asylums listed in the index people can use it to find the asylum they are looking for or perhaps one they didn't even know existed! :-)

4.You help this idea to become a reality by posting a request here at [info]hp_index to have your asylum added to the index and by telling your flist about this idea. Please? :-)

If you have any ideas for improvements, suggestions, questions, or you think I've made a terrible mistake then leave a comment to this entry or post to [info]hp_index and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
