Title: Dinky is his Name

Summary: Draco adopts a cat
Notes: Thank you to the mods for being my beta on the last minute. All other errors are mine.

Draco woke up at the scratching and, with a groan and stretch, he got up from the sofa where he had fallen asleep. He moved towards the door and opened it, letting in the black cat; once inside, the cat started rubbing its body around his feet and meowing. He gave a sigh and moved towards the kitchen with the cat happily following him.

He was straightening from putting the dish on the floor when he felt two arms wrap around him from behind.

“You do know that now that you’ve been feeding it, you won’t be able to get rid of it,” Harry whispered, and then kissed his cheek, leaving behind a cool autumn feel.

Draco rolled his eyes and said, “I know.”

Draco watched as Harry grabbed one of the cookies left out to cool and, with cookie in hand, leaned against the counter right next to him as they watched the cat eat. After a while Harry asked, “So, what’s the name you chose?”

Draco sighed, Harry knew him too well. “His name is Dinky.”

Draco didn’t have to wait long before he heard Harry start to laugh, he only smiled and looked down at the cat.
