Sirius jumped then stumbled as he saw movement then pale skin in the darkness.
“Severus, you scared me, I thought I saw a ghost.”
There was flash of white as the figure rolled its eyes.
“Are you drunk, mutt?”
“Uh… possibly?”
“So that’s a yes. You didn’t apparate home?”
“No, mother. I took my bike.”
“What! You could have been killed.”
“I’m not that drunk. Honest.”
Sirius grabbed Severus’s hands, pulling him to his feet.
“How was your evening, Severus? I know you hate Harry’s parties, but… you shouldn’t brood alone. Not tonight.”
“I didn’t brood alone. There were trick or treaters.”
“Merlin. You didn’t…”
Severus’s eyes flashed red and a terrifying noseless visage appeared.
“That’s not funny, Severus. It’s far too soon for your, um… You-know-who costume.”
“It’s fifteen years. There were even one or two mini-Voldemorts knocking at the door. And I made a quick trip to Honeydukes earlier. Nobody complained.”
“You’re a sick bastard, Snape, you know that?”
“That’s a compliment, I take it, coming from you?”
“Of course, idiot.”
Sirius slid his arms around Severus’s waist, kissing him with firewhisky breath and walking him towards the bedroom as if clumsily dancing.
