Title: Forgotten Traditions Pairing: Lucius/Harry Rating: PG Summary: Lucius takes Harry to a pagan celebration of Samhain Notes: Happy Halloween, cruisedirector, I hope you like this :)
"Can’t you just tell me where we’re going, Lucius?" Harry whined, feet aching as Lucius pulled him through woodland.
Dating an older, pureblood divorcee was difficult, but not for the reasons people might expect. Lucius was very traditional and took great delight in showing Harry all the pagan customs that had been forgotten by mainstream wizarding culture. That wasn't a problem in itself, but Lucius always refused to tell Harry what was happening so he could be 'surprised'.
"We're almost there," Lucius soothed. "You'll love it."
Harry could see red and orange lights flashing somewhere close beyond the trees, could hear the faint banging of drums, and could smell the smoke of an oak fire, each sense growing stronger as they made their way through the trees.
They finally broke through, where a small crowd of people were gathered dancing around a fire, their faces painted with red or yellow stripes. They waved autumn coloured streamers through the air, their feet moving gracefully to the beat of the drums.
Harry could only stare, eyes widening as he took in the cheerful, beautiful sight before him.
Lucius smirked at Harry's reaction and leaned down to kiss him tenderly.
