HP Beholder 2013: The Sign-Up Post!

Welcome to the sixth round of hp_beholder! Once again, we're here to bring a little love (or lust) into the lives of our favourite Harry Potter characters who are otherwise overlooked.

Sign-ups are now open, and will remain so until 6:00PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, February 7th. Assignments will go out on the following weekend.

If you have not already done so, please read the updated community information here, which includes general information, the list of eligible characters, additional tips for writing your request, and this year's deadlines.

Additional Likes and Dislikes

(Important Note: the giver is not required to take these additional preferences about setting, era, tone, etc. into account, but it might help them come up with ideas, so include as many ideas as you like)

No “prettying up” the characters. I’d like to see them find happiness just as they are. I prefer adult characters or characters shown during the adult phase of their lives. I prefer plot over no plot and always enjoy seeing light shown into the nooks and crannies of canon that weren’t explored in the books.

I like banter and humor. Angst is okay, but I’d like a reasonably happy ending. My favorite non-listed characters are Severus Snape and Remus Lupin, and I'm always glad to see either of them in a fic. In fact, Snape/ McGonagall has always been one of my very favorite pairings. :D

I dislike the Marauders as a group as well as fic set during that era. I’m not a big fan of the trio, Death Eaters as a group, or the next gen characters, either.

I like stories about secret admirers, first times, “what if?”, slice of life, and stories that show that reality and what’s commonly known and believed about someone or something aren’t necessarily the same thing. AUs are okay (magical preferred but not magical is okay, too) as are missing scene fics. I love stories that take place at Hogwarts and involve the teachers and staff as they are when the students aren't around.
