lyras ([info]lyras) wrote in [info]hp_beholder,
This story filled me with glee! There are so many great lines, I couldn't resist picking out a few that struck me in particular.

If you were an Auror, you'd have to keep an eye on that sort of thing.

*dead* Oh, Gran! Oh, Neville!

As odd as it seemed to think of Gran as married again, it made him happy, to think that one of the Longbottoms might be in love.

Oh, Neville. This says so much about him, and about how lonely he must have been growing up. And it makes me sniffle for Frank and Alice.

my son Frank, the Auror, wasn't there, but my grandson Neville, the Auror--"

...

"--my grandson Neville, the hero, helped defeat the evil snake, and suddenly the Malfoy heir is mincing about in public, kissing other wizards--which never would have happened in my day, mind you

Your Augusta voice just kills me dead. Firstly here, I loved her self-correction and the emphasis on "hero". And secondly, that she goes from that to Draco "mincing about in public" is priceless, as is the "in my day, mind you". You've nailed her perfectly.

Poof! Apparently it's just for wizards, though. There are never any good words for witches. Wizards take them all." She stared into her drink morosely.

I rarely laugh out loud while reading, but this was one such occasion. And yet, I really liked the serious sentiment behind Minerva's comments, too.

Utterly wonderful story - thank you!
