I LOVE this! How they get married on the sly & just fire Nev an Owl about it, & the way Augusta seems a bit shocked at herself despite the fact that she's waited decades for this. And I love that we still don't entirely know what their life together will look like (apart from the gardening, which I can absolutely visualize them doing together with their hats to keep off the sun) because they're still figuring it out. The risque discussions in the pub are very fun & it's nice to see that aspect of their social scene. Plus, I really liked hearing about how they got here and how their interwoven stories fit into the broader story of the war & the Order, even if Augusta's revelations make Nev rather uncomfortable.

"I hope you have better ideas than that, Minnie," Gran said. "I'm not giving up my flat for ten years of not-marking." Hee, I sympathize with both of their perspectives about this & the affectionate bickering is fantastic :-D

Finally, I love the dynamics between Augusta - Gussie is a great abbreviation - & Nev , so that we understand why she pushed him so hard but also that she's incredibly proud & has altered her previous standards of success. All the characters are so well-drawn & the dynamics between them are perfect!
