Who: Charles and Lady Cassandra
When: 8:30AM
Where: Dining Hall
What: Cold readings and hot food~
Warning: Charles rolled a 20 on his Charisma check
Wandering around a hotel for nearly two hours can work up quite the appetite, even if one did not have a metabolism like Charles'. Being that the young preacher had way of burning calories that made athletes jealous, he was struggling not to clutch at his stomach when he finally managed to find his way back to the dining hall. Granted, he was laughing about it in his head, as he had a very amusing picture of what he would look like crawling into the bustling room, reaching a shaking hand in vain towards a muffin on the counter before collapsing.
No one said priests didn't have imagination. Or a sense of humor.
Unlike many hotels, there was no continental breakfast for self-service. Instead, there was a large room with many tables where one could sit by themselves or mingle with others. Seeing that many of the tables were already filled and more people were won the way, he quickly chose a table near the kitchen (likely left empty because of the noise) and sat, looking briefly over the menu before making his decision and setting the menu aside. He wouldn't call any of the staff to his attention while they were this busy, and he wouldn't fault them if they missed him. He honestly wanted to sit and reread some of his mother's Bible.
Speaking of that - he'd remembered to visit his room after his chance encounter on his tour and had said book with him. Taking the worn text from an inside pocket of his robes, he thumbed the velvet soft hide over the hard leather binding, lenses glinting as his eyes observed yet again how aged the parchment was. He loved this book, and he could read it; something very few people in the world could do anymore.
A server passed by and asked if he needed anything, and Charles placed his order, thanking the gentleman for taking the time to attend to him before the former scurried off to put the order in and the latter went back to his book.
Memories are such wonderful things.
