"It's a nice perk of the job," he agreed. "Traveling around eating all of the local food. I've had way more than my share of fucking amazing seafood on this particular route."
He took a few bites of the mango as well, licking juice from his bottom lip, grateful more now than ever that he'd run into Hunter on the trail. He had been anticipating a long, miserable hike back by himself, but with the buoyant blonde beside him, it was almost fun.
Almost.
Max finished his mango and tossed the core to the side of the trail, wiped both hands on his jeans. They were still a bit sticky but he'd live as long as the bug repellant kept doing its job and keeping the mosquitos away.
"You could do that, one of those survivalist things," he agreed with a nod of his head. "I'd watch you go up against nature. Nature'd definitely lose."
