Pandora's box. Everyone knows the Greek myth about the box said to have housed all the world's evils inside. However, few know that such an item truly exists. Before Voldemort had Bellatrix Lestrange, Grindelwald had Pandora Zurlo, a witch of unspeakable cruelty with a penchant for dark magic and a taste for sadism.
Wanting to savor the pain of her victims, she created a box to capture their emotions as she tortured them to death. Every tear of desperation, every scream of pain, and every death rattle found its way into that box to delight Pandora whenever she wished. However, she disappeared when Grindelwald fell, and the box was lost with her.
Until now.
The box has been found and just like the story, all its evils have been unleashed to torment the unsuspecting and the innocent. A darkness is creeping through the wizarding world, unchecked and insidious, slipping into people's bodies and minds. The lucky ones will only suffer. The unlucky ones will die.

You awaken in a room that is devoid of decorations. You are lying on a small cot, a table beside you. Upon the table is a device, similar to that of a PDA. Closer inspection reveals your name inscribed upon the back below an insignia the likes of which you have never seen.
The device is on. On the screen is a note, written in your native tongue. Once the letter is finished, it disappears and in its place is a map leading you to your assigned housing. The door to the room opens at this time and a computerized voice tells you to exit. The corridor is long and narrow. It deposits you out onto an unfamiliar street. The city is large, the architecture foreign. The door behind you closes and you are left alone.
Feel free to explore. You cannot leave the city but all of your needs will be met. Anything you can want, within reason, can be found here. The locals are mostly friendly and compassionate. Their duty is to make your stay here a comfortable one. After all, you are their guest. You are their responsibility.

Searching for a Batman to write against. I'm totally open to writing Catwoman against other characters (DC-related or not), even OCs that are well constructed. Longterm, threading preferred. Thinking about bringing this face to ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) wtf_is_in_iowa but I'd like to see if I could get some storylines a-brewin' before I do. I haven't quite decided on which species I'm going to be making her but I do have a few ideas floating around in my noggin. A human witch, maybe part of a coven - perhaps they all live or run a business together? They could each represent an element (earth, air, fire, water). I've also considered making her a newly turned vampire who has to live with her sire (preferably a male) to adjust to her new (un)life. And there's always the option of making her a 'gifted' human who could be in a relationship with a 'normal' human or a were-creature - perhaps there's some drama that could derive from their differences? I don't know. Lol. I'm open to suggestions, though!
