The citizens of Rome, one of the most powerful empires in the ancient world, spend their days working through streets crowded with beggars and merchants. One cannot move past an alley without being flanked by a butcher working on a pig to the right, a Pagan shrine to the Goddess of the Earth on the left -- Everything set in a harmonious fashion without ever taking note to the potential of disharmony hidden directly beneath the surface. At the forum there are glances toward a gladiator arena and the platform being erected for a slave auction near the steps of the esteemed senate.
There are grain ships sitting at the docks and men unload the bounty under the watchful leadership of man that is little more than a gang-leader. Men and women live their lives, pleading cases to Senators as they pass and then to the strong men of the street after justice refuses them. No one knows that one, the other, or both might just be a creature that would come to be known as a vampire, for at this time it is just a whispered idea of a curse rampant in the upper class.
Stories are told, and legends are made each day on the streets of the early Roman empire. Many feel they are simply creating and telling fairy tales to keep children out of the woods when they talk about centaurs and satyrs, while the tutor working with their children grins and fidgets inside his human form -- Desperately wanting to stretch his legs as he runs through the woods. The creature within him hidden away in his mortal disguise.
Patrician families have been infiltrated by vampires, though the word doesn’t even really exist just yet outside the race itself, and the creatures of stories are hidden throughout Rome in all her facets, hidden beneath human dress and flesh, helping or hindering as they see fit. Rome is a city built on hills, controlled by the strongest of any given moment, and ruled by whatever is being whispered on the streets.

Original Character. Future. Arranged Marriage. 16 & Up.
Almost 20 years ago the world made a last ditch effort to curb the disastrous effects of global warming. This move to protect the world also doomed it to an inevitable end; it has been over 19 years since a child has been born. The world as a whole had resigned itself to this bleak future until now, the year 2051.
It was a group of scientists in Beijing, China who discovered the cure. They called it Hòu Rén (后人) or 'Posterity'. Hòu Rén is a serum, a cure that reverses the sterilization but only in people below the age of forty. In an attempt to not only capitalize on the joyous reaction from the public but to insure that the population will grow in the 'right' direction, the Hòu Rén community has been established. As China was the place where the cure was discovered, it was selected as the place for the first Hòu Rén community.
Scientists have created a database of DNA samples, looking for key genes that will create an 'ideal baby' and the people with these 'perfect' genes are contacted and urged to join the community. It is advertised as being on a strictly voluntary basis with a substantial monetary incentive. People between the ages of 21-39 from all over the world will enter the Hòu Rén community to be paired up with their perfect genetic partner.

You've read the books. You've seen them fight in the First War. You've seen them searching for horcruxes. You've seen them struggling with choosing between good and evil and right and wrong. But what happens at Hogwarts when the pressing issue of the day is simply, 'Who flooded Moaning Myrtle's bathroom?' or 'Will I have a date to the Yule dance?' What happens in Hogwarts when hundreds of preteens and teenagers share the halls? Mishaps and shenanigans are bound to happen. Someone will steal your girlfriend, a fight will break out outside of the Potions classroom and someone will be caught passing notes in class.
Amidst all of that, you've got the epic battle between the houses, a battle that has nothing to do with You-Know-Who or grand wizards, but everything to do with an age-old rivalry dating back to the Hogwarts founders. So, what will your character get up to as Hogwarts opens its doors for another year? Will you be trying to win the heart of the boy you've loved since second year? Spending your free period seeing just how many pumpkin pasties the giant squid can eat in an hour? Or will you be off in the corner plotting the next big prank with your best friends?
Pranksters is an AU MWPP roleplaying game set at Hogwarts in 1977, the Marauders' last year. While Voldemort exists, the war outside of the school is not a main focus of the game. Most canon characters are currently open for play.
