Present day Aiode Falls, Maine is home to many residents from all over the globe. And Universe.The little college town is growing and becoming home to more and more people all of the time. Some of them have no idea how they got there, and some of them can never go home. As the University gets darker with new arrivals harboring less than happy intentions, so does the city. It is now home to metahumans, vampires, humans, demons, ghosts, aliens and even celestial beings. All of them with defined morals (or none, for that matter) and each with an allegiance. Those without a chosen allegiance are considered fair game, as both sides subconsciously prepare. There is a constant battle for good and evil in this town, and only one side can prevail.

| You’ve just been sentenced to MCI Grand Junction, a prison located some 20 miles west of Boston, Massachusetts.
You have been sent here to carry out the full term of your sentence. There will be no escape. There will be no appeals. Some of you will never leave. For some this is only the beginning of a long and terrible nightmare.
Rumors of brutality, of severe discipline, rape and even murder is rife within, but in a place like Grand Junction money talks. Besides, you are a convicted felon: society has washed its hands of you.
The only people looking out for you now are those left on the outside waiting for your release. Pray you live long enough to see it.
Your life as you knew it is over.

Apartments For RentVACANT. Djinn comes from extremely low beginnings, and he lived his entire life at the whim of more powerful people: an underground drug cartel. His masters have mostly used his unique skills to remove living obstacles from their path. He's been sent to Bellum by his superiors, who he would not consider denying, to find blackmail information on anyone in the building with the capacity to pay.
VACANT. Obsessed with magic from an early age, Merlin has heard about Bellum Letale's past, and he's come to the building to investigate the rumors for himself. He's also, admittedly, drawn by his respect for King Arthur and his hatred for Reynard the Fox. The verdict is still out, however, on that Lancelot fellow, and if he secretly fathered baby Milo (who is being raised by The Little Mermaid's Prince'), well, no one has to know that.

Premise:
There is an apartment building in New York called 'Bellum Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.
It is a strange building.
Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated fable, the stories told to human children for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the fables began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.
Now is the time - Bellum Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and long-held grudges, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Their Landlord knows their every move, and the building they live in seems to have an agenda of its own. People are tortured, people die, people plot behind each other's backs and sneak around and cheat. They love, they fight, they draw blood. This is not the fairy tale you remember being told. |
