Viewing the English lands as damp and worthless, especially compared to his French holdings, King Richard I has journeyed to the Holy Land, focused on the glory of war. His island kingdom has been left in the grasping hands of his youngest brother, Prince John, and grumblings of discontent are spreading throughout the kingdom. In the shire of Nottingham, the peasants, and a few nobles, are beginning to gather, quietly throwing their support behind a charismatic youth known as Robin Hood. Though born of noble parentage, Robin's heritage was taken from him at a tender age. His father, Malcolm, Earl of Huntingdon, abandoned his wife and son, obtaining an annulment through dubious methodology. The young Hood grew up a peasant, with none of the privileges afforded to men of rank and power. That didn't hamper his vision...nor his attitude. The characters are based on those from the BBC Robin Hood series, though histories will be changed to reflect this alternate universe. How will your character's background, attitude, feelings, actions change if they are following not a disgraced lord scrambling to save England and regain his place in society, but a peasant, looking to rebel and change a country more than half a millennium before democracy became a household word? A tentative push and it rises away from you, swinging to the side. Light filters in through windows above. You blink, your eyes adjusting to the shadowed room as you try to remember what happened. A thin layer of dust covers everything. There are no panes of glass in the windows. The virus. You remember now. They told you stasis was a precaution. Only a few weeks. A month, at best. Let them get the virus under control. Standing beside your pod, legs shaking from disuse, you feel a sense of apprehension creeping over you. Your heart beats even faster now. A table nearby has a pile of scrolls on it and, with a sense of foreboding, you cross to find the one with your initials on it. ~~~ The year is 2100. ~~~ Waking Pandora is an AU, post-apocalyptic Harry Potter RPG based partially on the History Channel series Life after People.
