I just joined this. Let's see if we can't get more people into it.

Okay, so my holiday wishlist!!

1) To have my power bill paid. I think it's around $400.

2) This Doll

3) A computer (mac) that works. Mine is dying, there are dead pixels everywhere, the b key doesn't work, it's got issues. And I'd like a mac so I can transfer my software over. Preferably an older G4 laptop. I have no room in my place for a desktop computer, and my software is all super-old (I'm running photoshop 7)

4) A pair of really warm mittens. I don't use gloves much, but I ADORE mittens. Especially hand-knit ones. Even if they're knit and coolish, I can always make fleece inserts for them. I know, I make my own mittens, too, but there's something about someone else making mittens or buying mittens for you that's just yummy.

5) Watercolor paper! If you have some, if you don't need it, I can use it! I've got two pads left, and they're not gonna last very long. I do watercolors all the time, and it's one of those things I just can't get right now.

6) And this is pretty shameless, and kind of sad, and I hate asking for it. Presents for my son. He's 16, and all he's asked for is the Supernatural Season 3 DVD set. That's it. And he's 16. I'd like to get him some fashionable clothes, or other things that kids his age like - Hot Topic Gift card, or something? but it looks like I'm gonna have about $150 total to Spend on Christmas. (sigh). If this other painting had sold, I would have more, but grrrr. buyer backed out.

7) Someone to come and clean my house for me. Seriously. It's so overwhelmingly bad, I don't know where to start. I can't cope with it myself. Even if this means hiring my roommate or son to do it, but I just can't. Plus the fact that I'm working 12 hour days and when I come home, I just go to bed - that doesn't help.

8) Sales of my comic? I've put it up in the Indy Planet Site in its own page and nobody's bought even one. I might reduce the price of them, but grrr. It's so frustrating. It's not bad, but the comic industry is just so crappy right now.

9) The Lost boys on DVD.

10) Toys on DVD. This is my favorite Christmas Movie. I have it on VHS, but our VCR has broken. So, I guess either a new VCR, or Toys on DVD. Actually, this could be for both my son and myself.

Okay, so now contact info:

Rana Raeuchle is my name. My power company is Xcel Energy (in Saint Paul, Minnesota) - even paying a little on the power bill would be so, so, so awesome!

if you want my address to mail things to me, it's on my resume which you can get from my website: chibitoaster.com

EDIT: I'm crossing things off the list as they are "claimed" Thank you guys so much!!! I think I'll take the money I was gonna spend on the DVD set and get him a hot topic gift card!!

Self-Made Envelopes Tutorial (now with crappy pictures!) [20 Nov 2008|09:02pm]

*waves* As discussed earlier, I bring a generic holiday-themed... uh, tutorial thingy. (Also cross-posted to my personal journal.)

When I still did penpalships, I made my own envelopes from all kinds of papers I found interesting - magazine ads, fashion shoots, b/w copies from artbooks, anything that caught my eye. Advantages, obviously: 1. it's fun, 2. it's giving letters or cards a more personal note, 3. paper gets reused. And it's really easy.

Tutorial under cut. )
