His sympathy genuine, which was refreshing. But she simply shrugged at it. "I know it doesn't really make that much sense. But we're teenagers; we're supposed to be irrational." She smirked a little at that, but her smirk faded just a bit when he stared her in the eyes and told her that he liked her.
She watched him carefully, trying to figure it out. He seemed so genuine, but it just couldn't be possible. She wasn't pretty or smart; she was tiny, boyish, and rude, with mental issues on top of it all. And he was this gorgeous all-American boy with a gentle heart.
