She would have been impossible to please, had he been able to read her mind. When he grinned, he smiled too much, and when he frowned, it was unnatural? Goodness, how was he supposed to look? Maybe she just was impossible to please.
That was going to suck for him, seeing as he'd made up his mind to please her. He listened as she gave her reason for not wanting him to take her hand, but he didn't really believe it. "Why don't you like to be touched?" He asked, as they slowed to a stop in front of the lake - rather than acknowledge her comment about being 'sercluded' and buckets of questions. It was true, he had plenty of inquiries to direct toward her. "Did someone touch you when they weren't supposed to, or something?" He asked, brow creased as he looked at her. The frown had morphed into something more of a serious expression - not that it was any less disturbing on his generally grinning features.
Just that little smile on her face, though. It made him want to touch her. He wanted to protect her from the world and their rumors, but he wasn't about to give up now. It was partially her and partially the challenge he loved. He just didn't know her well enough, either way.
