RP: Severus & Savannah
Who: Severus Snape & Savannah Monroe
When: Monday, 14 June
Where: Infirmary
What: Severus is not a good patient, even when he should be.

Severus was not a stranger to the infirmary at Hogwarts. Mostly, it was the aftermath of an experimental potion gone wrong. Occasionally, it had been the result of the stupidity of a student. In the last few years prior to being brought forward in time, it had been the result of the Dark Lord's ire spilling over in a meeting. Irrespective of the cause, one thing had always been a constant - Severus was a terrible patient.

His current situation was no different. He'd been deep into his brewing when the birds had attacked in a fashion not unlike one of his mother's favourite movies from the 60s and as a result of his inattention, their beaks and talons had scored deeply over his back and shoulders before he'd been able to hurl them away with a wild burst of magic. Even then, he felt a burst of searing heat across his right hip before he'd smashed them into the walls with a spell Dark enough that he likely would have had the Aurors asking him some very searching questions had the world even remotely resembled normality.

He didn't actually remember making it to the infirmary, whether he did so under his own power or someone helped him. He only remembered the poison burning its way through his veins like liquid Cruciatus and the pain from his hip searing through him with every faltering step as he forced himself to continue, to get to help. He also remembered little from the last few days, only a pain-filled jumble of memories, fever-dreams and fragments of whispers and muttered comments about poison and wounds and the need for immobility and the advisability of doing so given 'his past'.

However, when he woke this time, he felt... not clear-headed, not with the amount of pain he was still experiencing, but certainly able to think and stay awake for longer than a few minutes. He also became aware that he had been immobilised in some fashion. He could move his head but little else and panic flashed through him before he wrenched it under control. This was not the past and despite his wariness around many of the people here, it was unlikely he had been immobilised for malicious reasons.

Still, he closed his eyes for a moment and took a couple of deep breaths to calm himself before opening his eyes again and letting out a rather ungainly rasping croak instead of the words he'd intended to say.

Savannah's ankle had been broken like she suspected, nothing that the skele-gro couldn't deal with. She was so used to broken bones that it didn't register, especially in the face of the many injuries suffered from a lot of people.

She couldn't feel bad that she was fine, but she felt terrible for the people who weren't. She had tried to help Marlene as best as she could. She was no healer and she was terrible at research, so helping with the patients was the best she could do.

Many of the patients had families and friends here, but there was one who didn't and Savannah made it a point to check on him as much as she could, because no one should be sick and alone. When she came around this time, she could see that he was awake.

"Professor- Severus." She took his hand, not sure how the spell worked or if he could feel her. "Marlene cast some spell to stop the spread of the poison since you were unconscious anyway. Here, let me." She ended the spell. "There are some potions here that Regulus brought, they help with the pain and you probably should have something to drink, hydrate and all of that. I can help you sit up."

Severus gave a shudder of relief when his body relaxed out of the spell, something that didn't help with the waves of pain that ebbed and flowed through him but at least allowed the adrenaline spike caused by the mere idea of being so helpless fade into nothing. He scowled at the offer of help but between the pain washing around inside him and the sharper stabs of pain from his hip, he knew he needed it. That didn't mean he had to like it though.

"Why are you here?" he said, his voice gravelly and sour and more insulting than he'd intended, his opinion on needing help and being in the infirmary in the first place not withstanding. He grimaced and waved his free hand at her to help him sit up. "The potions and the poison. What's going on?"

It was about then that he realised that she was holding his hand. Which wasn't unpleasant. He decided not to think about it too much.

"The birds," he said, less a question than a statement. "They were in my workroom."

Savannah took the lack of objection as assent and helped him sit up, puffing up the pillow as much as she could before letting him rest against it. She also ignored his tone. "You're sick and you don't have any family here. I thought you'd like a friendly face around, and I'm very friendly. I was voted 'nicest player' of the league three years in a row, that's besides being the best."

She took one of the potions and handed it to him. "That's for the pain. As far as the poison, not much seems to be working. No one knows these birds. We've put fillers in the international community. I've written to enough magizoologists to annoy the entire community, if magizoologists have a community. Regulus has been ... oh I'm not sure, things with base antidotes and lots of potion things that I never paid attention to."

Savannah cast a cleansing spell, because no one could feel good when laying here, sweating because they were being poisoned. "I'll bring you some lavender and jasmine oils. They smell good and they relax you." She brushed his hair and looked at the injuries. "They were everywhere. They seemed to have appeared from nowhere so we're assuming that they appeared from the past. Mr. Potter was very...enthusiastic in disposing of them, but they have some trapped in case they are needed for research."
