RP: Dinner out
Who: Anyone
When: Evening 14th May
Where: the Steak and Co. restaurant at the corner of Irving Street and Charing Cross Road, near Leicester Square
What:

- The 'ministry' is footing the bill for everyone
- They got there around 6:30, looked around for a bit and decided on this restaurant since it could sit all of them.
- They are split in 2 tables (you guys decide who was sitting with you, just average it out 11 and 14, because you don't sit 13 at a table).
- They finished around 8:30.
- They walked around for a bit in small groups and then went back to the Leaky. From there, they Disapparated to Hogwarts.

"It was just a joke, but okay. They aren't ducklings." She was going to have to be more careful with her words if she wanted conversations with Harry to remain civil it seemed. She really hadn't meant any offense with it, or at least she didn't think she had. It was true that Hermione and Ron would follow Harry anywhere, everyone knew that, so maybe she needed to do a little self-reflection on how it had come across. "Yes. It's very good they're here. I don't want to think about what it would be like without them."

At least it seemed like she hadn't ruined everything with her duckling comment. "That sounds about right. So hopefully Aunt Hermione wasn't far behind you! You have to think positively about these things." Aunt Hermione had been very good at keeping people on task, so it was very likely that there were a very logical and reasonable number of clues.

"Oh, I remember her muttering about that once. If it's any consolation, I'm not very good at French either. Somehow it's harder than Mermish!" At least, she'd thought so. "I do like it, and I think I'll be more helpful there than I would have been in the DMLE or anywhere else. I guess we'll see over time if I was right."

"I guess I've heard too many comments about my sidekicks as if they weren't as important and they were. They are. It's not as one sided as people think it is." Maybe Lilu did know better but it still irked Harry on Ron and Hermione's behalf. "I know we weren't doing well when Hermione wasn't here so I can understand."

He chuckled. "Right now I wish she hadn't been. We'd have gotten bored with the two and made it clearer. Go here. Open this. Possibly not as safe if anyone else had come across the clues but a lot easier for us."

Harry was pretty sure that it wasn't the case, but didn't argue. "I told her that Parleltongue was easier. She did not take it well. I guess it's also what interests you. I can learn what I like, but give me something I don't care about, and I'll never learn." He remembered Jamie's words about his reaction to their careers and resisted the urge to sigh. "Don't worry, I won't push you into the DMLE. I told Jamie, the DMLE here isn't the DMLE at home, and if a dark wizard comes around, there are certain people who'd go after him, regardless of job."

Sometimes at the expense of everyone else, and part of her wondered how Draco felt about that but as she wasn't going to ask either of them about it she put it out of her mind. "There are others I wish were here, but as long as Jamie and Al are, I can deal with it."

She couldn't help but laugh as well. "Well, if anyone can solve an Aunt Hermione mystery, it's the three of you. And if Jamie and Padma can help too, all the better." She did know that none of them would stop until the mystery unraveled, so there was that.

"Oh, I'm sure she loved that." Especially since Parseltongue wasn't something to be learned, but more of an innate trait. "No, I get that. I think most people are that way unless they're Aunt Hermione who just wants to learn everything about everything." She gave him a small smile, wishing that the conversation she'd had with her version of Harry had gone the same way when she'd told him in no uncertain terms that she wasn't joining the DMLE, but that was neither here nor there and had maybe been more about choosing to be an influencer than not joining the DMLE anyway. Her father certainly hadn't seen any usefulness to that. "Yeah, I can't imagine you just sitting at your Minister's desk if that happened."
