Roxanne and Open

To say she was excited about an evening out of the castle was an understatement. Even if it turned out only to be for an hour or two, the prospect of going somewhere that wasn't here was irresistable. Roxanne hadn't been outside the grounds since the trip to Diagon Alley all those weeks ago, and it was surprising how small the massive castle could feel. As much as she loved her work and her projects - and she did - they had taken up every waking hour for far too long.

So, an occasion like that deserved a decent outfit. Roxanne thought she was okay in the department, but she was no Scorpius. She was more than happy to take his lead when it came to her 'non-work' wardrobe, which had been sadly neglected recently. Still, after half an hour messing around with magazines and various garments, she was feeling the need for a top up and had excused herself. Roxanne weaved through the people, holding her almost empty glass above her head to try and prevent any accidental splashing, happily bobbing along just a fraction out of time to the music.

She reached the bar, drained the last few drops of her drink and plonked the glass down on the wooden countertop. Humming under her breath, the dark haired witch turned to examine the bottles lined neatly on the side.

Peter wasn't usually one for fancy clothes. He didn't have the money for the designer clothes that Scorpius was showing people. Sure, time had passed, but some of the designer names hadn't changed from the 80s and magazines still carried the fancy stuff that most people couldn't afford. Still, he liked the idea of transfiguring something to look fancy and the magic was fun in and of itself.

Still, he needed a break from the spells since he was totally spending more time trying out spells than clothes and decided to go to the bar. "Look is here. Searching for alcohol or more broken things to fix?" he asked with a smile.

"Are you in the mood for something sweet or bitter? I'm going for sweet. I was going to make an Alexander. It's brandy dark crème de cacao and cream. Do you want one?" he asked as he reached for the right bottles. "If you want bitter and aperol spritz should do the trick."

"Hey!" Roxanne turned and smiled brightly at Peter as he approached. She'd seen him in the group earlier, busying himself with some spell or another. She'd got the impression he was there more for the magic than the clothes, which she totally got.

"Can't I be doing a bit of both?" She asked. Roxanne smirked and leaned against the bar, giving up her own drink-mqking mission as her forearms rested against the dark wood. She was more a 'chuck it in and hope for the best' kind of barkeeper, while Peter sounded like he knew what he was talking about as he reached for a bottle. She nodded. "I'll have an Alexander whatsit. Thanks."

Roxanne tilted her head a little, watching sharply as he busied himself with the various spirits. "So have you found the perfect outfit for Friday?" She asked, her tone friendly and faintly teasing.

Peter chuckled. "Normally yes, but I'd say that you should take your drinking seriously when at a club." He leaned closer and stage whispered. "I'll tell you a secret, I'm doing a lot of magic and little drinking. It's shameful."

He straightened up and went back to the cocktail. "Alright, my lady, an Alexander coming up. Do you know that Muggle alcohol is stronger? It's also cheaper if you count the exchange rate at Gringotts, or at least it was back in the days. Also people didn't die, so I used to go to Muggle London to drink where I learned all about the Alexander and other cocktails."

He snorted. "I'll probably wear jeans and a shirt, but I'm having fun looking. Those clothes are really posh, for people like the Malfoys. It's the equivalent of having tailor made clothes at the most expensive tailor in the wizarding world. Not something that most people can afford."

Still leaning on the bar, she watched as he started mixing and measuring out drinks. Roxanne knew a few people here had a bit of a weird relationship with Peter, but he'd always seemed okay to her. Not that she'd ever had a reason to dig very deep. It was the same with a few people here, actually.

"Yeah? You'll be an expert when we go out, then. I've always been rubbish with muggle stuff."

She straightened up, instead turning to lean back against the bar, drumming her fingers absently against the wood. "Might be an excuse to help yourself to something fancy, before they start charging us," she grinned. "Although Merlin knows what'll happen with the whole money thing."

It seemed fairly pointless worrying about it when there were only a few of them. For a moment, Roxanne's mind turned vaguely to the almost-finished wands she had upstairs, but the quickly cast the thought away. She was supposed to be having a break from work, after all.

He wished he had her confidence. She seemed to be so self-assured about everything, when coming here and discovering what had happened to him had made him even more insecurity, and he didn't think that was humanly possible.

"I wish. I was born in 1959. My knowledge of Muggles ends in 1981. There has been so much development, especially in technology. Cho told us about what it was like and she was from 2004. I can't even imagine what's been done in another twenty-five years. It must be incredible." He chuckled. "I don't know how that's going to work, but I'm glad we're getting a salary now that we can go out in the Muggle world We can start getting things we want."

He made the two Alexanders and handed her one. "There you go. So how are you doing? You're spending a lot of time working." He could imagine how hard it was for her, when so many people had friends and relatives here.

"I always forget how old you lot are," Roxanne laughed. 1981 sounded like a million years ago to her, let along 1959. With the day to day mundanity of the castle, the whole 'time travel' thing was quite easy glossed over. She shrugged. "I guess they have to be creative to get along without magic. My Grandad was obsessed with how clever they were. He'd lose his mind if he turned up here."

The image of her Grandad Arthur swelled in her minds' eye, but luckily Peter handed over the drink before she could dwell on it too long. "Thanks." Roxanne lifted the drink to her lips, taking a generous sip. It was sweet and creamy, with a slightly sharp aftertaste which gave away the alcohol. "This is good!" she smiled. "You should sack off whatever you guys get up to and just work in here."

She took another sip, offering him a half smile as she swallowed. "I love my job," she offered, as way of explanation. "And there's loads to do - goblin wands aren't really a thing, you know. I'm trying a few things we'll see what sticks." She was going to have to ask someone to get her a goblin to try stuff out. What if their magic didn't conduct the same way theirs did?

"We are ancient in our twenties," he said, laughing. He didn't mind though, because he knew what she meant. "It's weird, because we're all the same age, but our points of reference are so different, but my family was muggle so it loses a lot of the luster. You know how Muggleborns start Hogwarts and find all the new magic so interesting, but by their seventh year they don't even pay attention? It's the same with the Muggle world. If you grow up there, everything seems normal."

"Don't mention it." He took a sip, watching her reaction and apparently the drink was a winner. Peter laughed at her reaction. "Not sure they'd let me, and I do enjoy what I'm doing. Also I don't know that it'd be good for people to start drinking at nine in the morning, but I'll be happy to make more drinks for you if you like."

He loved to hear people get excited about their job. "I never had that before. Dad died when I was a baby and my Mum was a Muggleborn. I didn't have enough connections to be accepted into the Ministry. I'd have loved to do what I do now. It sounds like you have found your thing too. You can be the new creator of Goblin wands. You'll become famous throughout the world. But no pressure," he said, chuckling. "Have you tried them? You should go to Gringotts and ask the goblin there to try it. I bet he'd do it in a heartbeat. They have tried to have wands for so long, he won't turn you down."

"Hmm, you're probably right. I mean, way too responsible, obviously, but right." Roxanne took another sip, smiling over the rim of the glass. "I'll take you up on that, though."

She frowned a little at his next words. "That's bullshit. As if it should matter who you know." It was stuff like that which made her glad that she'd stayed far away from any kind of ministry job. Although, that said, Roxanne had a sneaking suspicion she would have found it harder to get her apprenticeship with Olivander if she wasn't a Weasley.

She pulled a bit of a face. "I don't reckon being famous is all its cracked up to be."
She'd learnt that much watching her cousins. Roxanne wrinkled her nose. "A bit, but you're probably right. I'll need to do proper testing. It'll be embarrassing if we offer them wands and all they manage to do is spark and set stuff on fire."

...Even if the thought of it was pretty funny.

Peter laughed at her answer, not because it was funny, but because it was spoken like a person who'd never encountered hardship. "You know that's not bullshit at all. That's how the world works. It's how things worked before, it's how things work now. People trust who they know. Look at us, look at the people Harry put close to him. Not that I'm blaming him, since he has at least tried to be fair. You're related to a family of heroes. You could have done anything you wanted. I had a Muggleborn mother who worked to make ends meet."

He shrugged. "I'm sure it's not perfect, but it does come with a lot of perks that others don't have. Do you know why poor people have little sympathy for the rich? Because they never had to decide if they were going to pay rent or food. Their problems are not as important as feeding a hungry child." He shrugged. "But that's not the case with you. You'd be famous for giving them something they never had, a true chance at doing magic. That's a damn good reason to be famous."

"I meant more like, that's a shitty way for the world to work," Roxanne smiled, rolling her eyes and reaching out to nudge him gently in the ribs. "I know I'm super lucky." She shrugged, taking another sip of her drink. It wasn't as if she could help who her parents were, but she was confident that her talent had helped her keep her spot at Olivanders, even if her name had got her in the door. "It was probably even worse back in your day, though. All that blood status and house stuff seems mad to me. Hopefully we can be done with it now."

She placed the glass down on the bar thoughtfully, feeling the rich flavour of the drink spread across her tongue before she swallowed. "I guess. I just like making stuff. Uncle Harry can have the claps on the back for thinking of it, or Lilu and Remus or whoever."

"It's how the world has always worked so I don't think that it'll change any time soon." He smiled at her. "Good for you, and I mean that. You're a good person and talented too if you can make wands for the goblins." He nodded. "It was, but you'd be amazed how quickly rich people banded together and forgot all about blood status."

Peter could understand that. "As someone who's always been happy to let someone else take the credit, take the credit," he said, "because at some point down the line, you'll regret it." He sighed and then smiled again. "But that's not the conversation for today. Come on, let's go find clothes to wear for our first trip out."

Myron hadn't really anticipated the party when he'd made his way to Styx this evening. Not that he minded. He was pretty used to impromptu gatherings cropping up wherever he (or mostly Kirley) went. But he wasn't a natural extrovert and had to be in the right mood for those kind of things - ideally helped along by several substances which didn't seem to be too readily available here. But better not think about that too much, or it made his fingers itch. Instead Myron helped himself to a generous glug of neat whiskey and slid into a corner booth. He had his notebook (as opposed to his apparently very flammable journal) in his pocket, and he fished it out so it could be placed on the table in front of him.

Of course, lyrics were all but impossible when someone else's music was being piped out, but if inspiration did strike, he could at least jot a note down before it vanished into the ether.

In the meantime, Myron took a sip of his drink and absently flicked through the pages, his dark gaze occasionally flicking up to the rest of the group, carefully watching.

Myron & Lilu

Lilu was very excited about the prospect of dinner. She was also excited about putting her head together with Scorpius and coming up with an incredible outfit. Not because she needed to impress anyone, but because it was fun and fun was in short commodity around here. She still wasn't over the combustible journals. What a waste! Hopefully, these were safer.

She made herself a juice cocktail (sans alcohol) and grabbed one of the magazines to look through for ideas. She saw a few things of interest and was starting to put together an idea that would be flattering, but not stand out too much amongst the Muggles. At least, that was the idea.

Looking around for a place to plop down and start sketching out ideas in her journal, she spotted Myron Wagtail sitting alone and headed over. The Weird Sisters had been old in her time, but she liked some of their music and they weren't old now. Well, not too old. Older than most people here, but still younger than the aging rockstars she remembered. And he looked lonely.

She headed over. "Hey. Mind some company? And do you need any help picking out something suitable for the dinner trip?"

Myron looked up from where he'd been flicking through his notebook, surprised by the arrival of the young redhead. Was she one of the Weasleys? No, the only Weasley girl here, confusingly, was the dark haired one. A Potter? Christ, who really cared? He looked across at her for a moment, instinctively shutting the cover of the notebook.

"Is that what they're doing?" He finally asked, his accent curving the words as he glanced across at the gathering. No wonder it looked like a wardrobe had thrown up over there. Myron frowned, reaching across to find the still-cool surface of his glass.

"Uh, I think I'm fine, thanks." He reckoned he could get away with his usual stuff for Friday. How out of fashion could jeans, shirt and jacket really be? Myron turned his attention back to the girl, giving a small, slightly awkward shrug before finally lifting his drink. "I mean, up to you. I'm just scribbling."

She hid a grin as he snapped the notebook shut. Whatever he'd been writing must have been very private. She wondered if it was a new song, but decided not to ask. She'd have to warm him up first because he wasn't what she'd expected. She'd expected someone more like Kirley, who was pretty much exactly what he appeared to be on the surface. Myron was more reserved, less in your face.

"Yes. In preparation for Friday. You're going to the dinner, aren't you? It's going to be brilliant to be out of the castle for a while, and it'll be a good test for the future." She just hoped Hogwarts wouldn't retaliate; hopefully, it wouldn't consider four or five hours out as abandonment. "At first I was thinking of just jeans and a t-shirt with a leather jacket, but then I was thinking: what type of jeans? What if we find a nicer restaurant with a dress code? So. Here we are. Thumbing through fashion magazines."

She took a seat across from him when he shrugged. It was adorably awkward, even if he was old. Not old old, but still pretty old. "You'll probably be fine with jeans; the rules of fashion aren't quite so strict for guys, usually. You can get away with a more classic look without anyone looking twice."

"Yeah," Myron replied, shortly. "I - didn't think of all that stuff." He'd had someone pick his clothes for gigs, and the rest of the time no'one really questioned what he and the rest of the band rocked up in. Myron watched as the girl slid into the opposite seat. Why was everyone in the castle about twelve years old? Myron had never thought of himself as old before, but a few days here and he felt like he should be checking in for his pension.

He took a generous gulp of his drink, glad of the sharp heat at the back of his throat. He took his time, watching her quietly before speaking. "Test for the future? You mean the castle?"

He'd heard a bit about it, how Hogwarts wasn't letting people leave, but the details had passed him by. The details of quite a lot had passed him by recently, if he was honest. It was easy to get sucked into his and Kirley's little music bubble and let the rest of the world get on with it.

"Men! You don't know how easy you have it. Oh! Maybe I'll steal a hair from Jamie and then we can be twins and I won't have to worry about all this girl stuff," she said, though she knew she wouldn't. Mostly because there wasn't time to brew any Polyjuice before the excursion.

She nodded at the question. "Yeah. You weren't here for it, but the last time someone left the castle retaliated. We're hoping this time it will realize the difference between a short outing, and leaving for good. After all, it hasn't reacted when people have gone out for recon and scavenging and all that. So. A test." She watched as he downed the drink, obviously a pro at it. Like her father had been. Was.

"But there's probably nothing to worry about."

"That's your brother, right? Is all your family here?" Myron asked. He really needed to start paying more attention to the other people here, or at least reading the journal things that kept popping up.

"Retaliated?" He had a mental image of a staircase flinging someone off, but he got the impression the reality was a bit less slapstick than that. He'd been told that Hogwarts was the reason they'd all ended up here, after all - it clearly had more magic than he'd ever given it credit for during his time here.

"Well, that's bloody reassuring," he managed a small, sharp smile to dampen the sarcasm, finally finishing off his drink. That hadn't lasted as long as he'd wanted it to. "It'd be good to be able to go out, though," Myron added, giving the empty glass a slightly wistful look before turning back to the redhead. "I reckon there's a decent reason most people don't pop back to school once they graduate. Five years living here was definitely enough."

"Not all. I have a big family. My two brothers are here, and my much younger father, my paternal grandparents, an aunt and uncle, and a cousin. And I know. That seems like a lot but. I'm a Weasley. We're known for two things: red hair, and being prolific." Honestly, it was almost a miracle that there weren't five times as many of them, though probably that had been an intentional move on the part of her uncles' wives. Plus, Uncle Charlie had never had any kids at all, so he was really the smart one. "I'm really glad they're here, though. I'd be lost without them, especially my brothers."

She shrugged. "There was a week or so where we all had different people's memories. It was weird and awful, but I don't think anything like that will happen this time. We've been very clear in our intentions about this dinner, and hopefully the castle can read into them. There has to be some benefit to this sort of magic." She hoped, anyway. Time would tell.

"Oh, that's me. Reassuring people is my strength," she said, with a bright smile that was the complete opposite of the sarcastic comment. "It will be! I miss people! Big crowds of people to watch and get lost in." She nodded. "Oh, I agree, though I did my full seven and loved it, there's so much of the world out there. Eventually, I want to see all of it. Or at least as much as I can." If she had her way, that would be a lot.

"All right, I've got to finalize an outfit, and you can get back to your scribbling. Do you mind if I just sit here quietly though? I promise I won't peek at your journal."

Regulus/Remus

Regulus felt very ambivalent about this trip. While he wasn't a fan of Muggle culture, it was hard to keep a separation when there wasn't a real wizarding culture. It was also nice to go back to London and see people. Twenty-five people were just too few to never meet anyone else.

The other problem was the clothes. Regulus wore robes. He liked them, loved the way they felt, enjoyed the way they moved when he walked. He never wore trousers, not even wizard ones. He remembered the Muggle trousers of the 70s. They were much tighter than the wizarding counterpart, but after time with Scorpius, he realized that today's trousers were even tighter. They were fitted from top to bottom. The jackets were single breast and covered a lot less than those three piece suits that business men wore in the city.

Looking down to the blue suit that Scorpius had transfigured, he went to Remus who didn't seem interested in looking at clothes. "What do you think? Scorpius says that it's a bit too formal and vetoed the waistcoat. I feel indecent."

"For a casual dinner out in the neighbourhood around Diagon and the Leaky? It might be a little too formal," Remus agreed. He wasn't bothering with new clothes. He'd seen the jeans and shirts muggles were still wearing when they did their initial recon trips and had simply modified his own to match the changes in style. He'd learned long ago that jeans and a shirt worked for most things in the muggle world he would ever have access to. "It suits you, though. Maybe keep the shirt and trousers and see if there's a casual jacket instead of the suit jacket? Or swap the jacket for the waistcoat instead?"

He wasn't really much a fashion expert, though. He knew what he was comfortable in. But, fashion tended to require a better sense of colour than he had. On the other hand, he did know what he liked to look at, too, and Regulus in well fit trousers was debuting fairly high on that list. So, he leaned over to speak lowly for Regulus' ears only. "Indecent comes after dinner, when I can peel those trousers off you in private."

"No jacket?" That seemed to be even worse. These trousers were terribly tight, both in the front and the back. "How do people wear these things? They are unbecoming. Mother would be mortified if she saw me in these. It's almost like you can see everything, even while clothed." The only reason he was even sharing his concerns with Remus was that Remus had seen him naked. No sense in pretending.

When Remus leaned closer, he put a hand on his waist without thinking but it was very fortunate, because the words left him unsettled. He gripped the side of Remus' shirt and closed his eyes. "You are terrible and are doing nothing to assuage my doubts when people are about to see exactly how much I like that idea." Seriously how was he supposed to go in public when Remus gave him a hard on?

"You are a terrible man who's doing nothing for my good name. I hope you understand that," he said pulling back, but he had a little smile on his face. "You know we were meant to discuss the house on Sunday and instead-." Instead they had gotten sidetracked by lots of sex, and his blush showed it.

Remus grinned before placing a quick kiss on Regulus' flush-warmed cheek. "I am not the only one to blame for those particular distractions," he admonished as he stood back and leaned against the wall, thumbs hooked in his pockets. Golden eyes wandered leisurely over his lover's form, assessing the outfit, but mostly just enjoying Regulus in the outfit. "But, I will admit to enjoying the way you look right now."

Still, if Regulus was uncomfortable, that wasn't going to help them blend in when they were out on the streets in London. Humming thoughtfully, he considered options for a moment. An idea began to form. Yes, that might work.

"I have a thought. Turn toward the mirror?" Pushing off the wall with one shoulder, he reached out to get a sense of the fabric of the jacket Regulus was wearing. He'd learned, after years of magically adjusting and repairing his own clothes until they wore clear through to threads, that some fabrics held up better to magical altering than others. The jacket wouldn't take too many alterations over time. But, he thought it should hold up for this. A quiet charm lengthened the jacket until it came to just above Regulus' knees, not quite a full duster length, but long enough that one only got quick peeks at the slender hips beneath, the pert arse just hinted at beneath the drape of cloth in back when walking. Keeping the clean, classic lines, he nevertheless softened them just a touch so the material would move with Regulus but still give him the lean silhouette of the suit without being as form fitting. "I'm not much of a designer. But, is that any better?"

"Of course I can. The only other person present was me and I can't possibly be at fault," he said with a tiny smile. "You are not being really helpful at the moment. I hope you understand that." He shifted from foot to foot, almost willing the fabric to grow looser, even though it didn't. "Robes are much more... comfortable." They were a sort of wall that impressed people when well made, but also kept them at bay.

He turned like Remus said and watched in the mirror. It wasn't a robe, but it was much better. "It is. If Scorpius has a fit about ruining a perfectly good cut and what's in right now, and apparently it's tight and tighter according to those magazines of his- If he complains, I'm sending him to you."

He turned again and looked at Remus. "Which version do you like? And which one fits more? If I'm going to the trouble of wearing trousers, I want to fit in. I understand that it's all in my head and people aren't actually staring at my crotch the entire time. It's just- nothing I saw looked like this and I want to fit in."

"Mmm, my mistake," Remus teased, grin softening as he caught the tiny smile.

Still, the more Regulus talked, the more his uncertainty became clear and Remus couldn't help but reach out, hands moving to slide reassuringly up and down Regulus' arms. "As long as you're comfortable that's what matters. Scorpius may know high fashion, but I'd wager I have more experience blending into places. Too many people looking like they stepped off the runway will garner us more notice than a few fashion plates amoung more casual or classic styles."

Smile softening further, he tucked a finger under Regulus' chin. "Certain styles are always acceptable, whether they're the current trend or not. Now," he went on, eyes taking another slow assessment of his lover's attire, "as for what I like? I think that even with the longer length of the jacket, you're going to get attention, not because there's anything wrong with your clothes but because you're a gorgeous man and when you add your usual confident way of moving to that outfit, you will turn heads. But, I also think those trousers fit you like a glove and it won't be your crotch we need to worry about if I spend all night watching your arse in them."

"Glad that I could explain things for the poor slow Gryffindors," he joked, chuckling a little, because with anyone else, he might mean it but not with Remus, who had proven to be his intellectual equal more than once.

Regulus took Remus' hand and squeezed gently. "I'm somewhat comfortable now." He stepped closer and leaned against Remus before kissing him. "This isn't my world, but it's the world we have, so I'll find a way to learn about the Muggle world and then we'll go do things by ourselves and possibly not wearing trousers that seem a few sizes too small."

He grinned. "We're going to a restaurant, which means we'll be sitting down. My arse is fine for the duration of our meal. I'll take my chances afterwards, something about peeling off comes to mind." He put his arm around Remus' neck. "I hope you won't be disappointed if some of that confidence will be missing while I learn. You'll have to be the confident one this time around."

"What would I do without your guidance, my quick-witted Slytherin." Remus' own chuckle chased after Regulus' as circled his arms around Regulus' waist.

The semi-privacy of the dressing area made him bold enough to deepen the kiss, losing him in what was beginning to become the familiar taste of Regulus for a moment or three. Then he pulled back with a smile and nodded. "We can go exploring, see if any of the places I knew still stand, discover some new favourites for both of us. Maybe, if they ever let us onto the continent, we can do the same in France. We can skip Spain until we know if their werewolf policies have left the Inquisition era behind," he added with another quiet chuckle.

"I'll just have to use our time eating wisely to plan for the time after appropriately," he teased, his soft version of a smirk playing about his lips. "I suppose I can manage to be confident enough for the both of us in this area until you get more accustomed to it," he teased softly, leaning closer to run his nose over Regulus' gently. "But I have plenty of faith in your ability to catch on quickly. I won't be disappointed. And, perhaps on Saturday, we can do one of those castle dates we talked about, just you and me in more familiar surroundings."

"You would wonder aimless in this castle, never knowing how you are at fault," he said, grinning.

Not too long ago they said that they would have never shown affection in public if it weren't for the memories of the Potters and here they were, pressed against each other, kissing passionately, with people around. He probably should put a stop to this, but instead he cupped the back of Remus' head and pulled him closer as they kissed, letting go with a sigh. "We can see anything you want. We have plenty of time and we can explore the world once the castle doesn't throw a fit, but yes we'll research current policies on werewolves since the days of hiding are gone for you."

Regulus laughed. "You keep saying things that make me think that trousers are a really bad idea." He nodded. "I think you can. My gorgeous boyfriend. You should show off." There was no doubt that he'd do his best to learn about Muggles so he could feel confident enough. "And maybe on Sunday we'll manage to talk about the house. The common room is being done, and we moved the table, but there are fourteen other rooms to decorate. I want your input since I hope you'll spend plenty of time there."

"A truly tragic state of affairs, then." Remus laughed warmly, shaking his head fondly at their shared silliness.

He wasn't sure it was supposed to be this easy, losing themselves in kisses, teasing and joking about. But, except for the first night at the club when alcohol and uncertainty of where they stood, he'd never felt awkward with Regulus, talking as friends or teasing in a more intimate manner now. Conversation, sex, just being around it each other, it had all come surprisingly easily. "Anywhere we want," he emphasised, making it clear that their joint plans that first Sunday when they embarked on this relationship were not just words. "Although, I'm starting to get used to the not hiding, at least with only a couple dozen people here."

Oh, but he did like the sound of that laugh, more, Remus liked that he was privileged enough to hear it because it had not escaped his notice that there was a carefree note to Regulus' laughter in private that was never in evidence in public. "Oh, no. Trousers are a very, very good idea. But, it sounds like we've settled our weekend plans, then. Dinner on Friday, castle date Saturday, and naked interior decorating on Sunday," he teased, his soft smirk reappearing, then he dropped a quick kiss to the tip of Regulus' nose. "It also sounds like you want to see me in something other than in -- or out -- of my usual denim."

"Indeed it would be, but luckily for all of us, I'm here to rectify the situation and no one needs to suffer," he answered, grinning at Remus.

Regulus shrugged. "It's hard to want to be somewhere when I know nothing of these places, whether Muggle or wizarding. At least you have a starting point. I'm sure I will develop opinions as we see more, but for the start, we can pick what you want." He was hardly being a doormat, but as far as he was concerned, it was easy to agree with Remus for as long as he had no preferences.

He hadn't meant to say that, but he had to admit that it would be nice to see Remus in something other than his usual. "It's a special night. It should be a little different than normal. Not that you don't look good, mind you, but- I don't know, maybe you can find something you like without being too formal or posh and still not be your usual. Sort of like Sirius' black jeans, white shirt and jacket. It becomes as much an uniform as school robes." Of course his brother still probably thought that he was being a rebel.

"Such generosity should probably be greatly rewarded," Remus mused with mock seriousness.

Nodding, he reached out to brush a lock of hair from where it was about to fall into Regulus' eyes. "That's fair enough. And we can look up places to see wherever we go outside what I knew, too. I heard they were doing some interesting things with blood magic in Hungary I was going to check out after Germany. We can make a list and work our way through as we go."

He smiled softly, a little amused and a little flattered, strangely enough. "I don't think I'd mind a little formal. I've never done formal, really. I stick to denim mostly because I could afford it, it lasts forever, and it goes with everything. I don't have to worry about whether the colour shirt I see is the actual colour I'm wearing. But, if you want to give me a hand with the colours, I'm sure I can find something out there you like." He winked at the younger man. "You did say the trend was tight and tighter, right?"

"I should, maybe tonight? It'll be a reward for my generosity and your understand," he said with an innocent look on his face.

Regulus nodded. "We're still young and this time, there's no war. Even if we need to stay here for a while, we still have decades to see everything we want to see." And this time, Remus wouldn't have to suffer. They had money, they would have the wolfsbane. "We'll do everything that we never got to do before."

He grinned. "That's good, then. As long as you don't mind, then we should look for something, probably in the grey family, with maybe a pink shirt. Muggles don't go for the bright colours of our time, so they are-" He stopped, before chuckling. "Sorry, I didn't mean to explain Muggle custom to the person who actually knows them instead of just looking at a few magazines." He nodded. "Definitely tight and tighter. Come on, let's go find something for you."

It didn't hurt to come look around, Marlene thought as she rolled into the Styx. She loved her clothes as much as the next witch and since shopping didn't come up all that often here she thought it lovely to jump at the opportunity at hand.

Marlene looked through the selection of clothes on display, wanting more than anything a new dress or skirt and nice blouse. Something nice and light since she couldn't imagine going out for dinner in a shirt and jeans, not when she had a chance for something with a bit more dramatic flair or cute.

Taking her time, Marlene looked through the racks trying to find something that appealed to her tastes and mentally made a note to get to the bar soon after.

Muggle clothes and fashion didn't mean much more to him than wizarding fashion did. He liked what he liked and the particulars didn't make much difference to him. What did though was the appearance of trying. Theo arrived at the Styx early, hitting the bar first to get his drink and taking the bottle with him to his booth near the back end of the club. He tossed his books and papers on table in the booth and left long enough to pass through and look at the clothes that had been brought out to glance over.

He didn't linger long and dressing up wasn't a priority at the moment, he had other things on his mind as he made his way back to his booth. Taking his seat he opened his books and poured over his work, furiously scribbling down his notes as he took the occasional sip from his glass.
