Jamie echoed the shrug. "Sure it's okay. Once in awhile, with a sincere attempt. But, a lot of people say it's too hard without even trying. Or they make a half-hearted attempt and give up because they don't really want to put in the effort. Sometimes you don't get a choice, either. You have to do it whether you're suited for it or not." He could understand his father that much, after all. Sometimes you had to do it because there was no one else.

The question caught him off guard, but he supposed it made sense to wonder. "I have both a social life and a sex life, thank you. Even if the latter's been a bit...slower the last year or so, while I try to sort out the whole 'not quite as straight as people think' thing discreetly."
