Warded to Heads and Jamie
((OOC1: Regulus doesn't know about the new Department so it's Padma, Lucius, Kirley, Savannah, Remus))
((OOC2: Regulus removed Kirley after his exchange and added Parvati))

We seem to have another problem. Granger hasn't shown up and neither has Weasley. I'm guessing they are- gone? Kreacher has checked and they are not in the castle.

Mate, I was told I didn't have to deal with this Head shit anymore.

My apologies. Harry was not one to pass things along. May I ask what's happening?

I turned the treasury over to Lucius. Parvati told me my job is to make music, which is what I'm doing. There's a new department DAMN or something like that.

Damn seems appropriate indeed. I'll take your name off and include... Parvati and see if she can explain.

Where Dad goes, so goes Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione.

Let's just hope they come back and we don't all end up screwed over by the castle thanks to them.

Since almost anyone who has shown any interest in making this a functional, if small, society is now on this message thread, can we discuss what we really are going to do? I'm all for open forums, but except for a few very good questions put forth by Padma, Remus, Regulus, and Lucius, nothing was accomplished. Except for myself, everyone here is already responsible for managing some portion of the work needed to do this. So, if any sort of decision is going to be made, it will likely fall to this group with the addition of Professor Snape as Headmaster to keep us going.

I've taken the liberty to send Kreacher to their rooms and their things are still here.

There is another big problem. Why is anyone going to listen to us if they don't? Theo wanted to go out, apparently comments were made that he should have and this is my guess based on your father's response, and your father decided that he'll beat everyone and do it himself. If they do what they want, why should anyone listen to any of us?

Is there anyone who will get the respect of everyone else? I fear that the answer is no, no matter what we do, but making an agreement without transparency will create even more problems. People don't want to do the work but will complain when you make decisions for them.

Because we'll work to give them reasons to trust us. There isn't any other option unless we simply don't try.

I agree that a certain level of transparency is best. But, there's nothing that says transparency as to mean we hash everything out publicly if no one else is participating. We could formulate a plan as a group and present that plan to the rest for their approval as easily as we could vote in an election with no volunteers.

What we're doing now isn't wholly working, even with Harry in charge. Since Harry's opted to quit, this is an ideal time to reconsider our options.

Why did you all listen to my father? He sent a journal entry declaring his nomination for Minister, asked for other nominees, and then held a vote and everyone who was here at that time went along without questioning it.

No one else is stepping up. No one else is presenting a plan.

Put together a plan. Take it to the rest and let them vote on it. Most of them will say yes just so that they don't have to deal with any of the problems themselves. Those who have something to say? Keep note of who they are and figure out a way to get them working along with the plan. Those are the ones we want helping us, the ones who care enough to voice an opinion. Even if they get voted down by the yes men, working with them instead of browbeating them into submission will go a lot farther than waiting for the next Chosen One to come along.

People listened to your father because he had a connection to almost everyone who was here at the time, he did have ideas to make things more equal and he has a moral standing that people supported. The only real exception was Theo.

People barely know Ms. Patil, me included and your connection to people is your father.

Will people go along with either of you? Sure. Will people listen? Well, you have my condolences.

No one else is going to have that kind of connection. That was something only my father would have had with that group. But, even he didn't have it any more. If there is a moral standing most people now will support, then find someone who has it and who will make things more equal.

I'm not advocating for them to follow me. I'm advocating someone do something.

Nor was I advocating for myself. I suggested a small group. I suggested we come up with an idea of how to do this and still give everyone else a say.

Here's an idea. The Minister does shit so let's nominate the one who caused this aka Theo. He's the one most likely to fight anyone in charge so he can fight himself.

It's not like we're doing anything. We got the brooms done because of me and Lucius and the wands because of Mr. Potter and Roxanne. Nothing else is really that important or relevant, so why are we stressing? Don't have a minister for a few weeks or months. Nothing will happen.

Right but the two people speaking up are you and Ms. Patil and you just got here. I don't even trust you, because I don't know you enough to judge what you will and won't do. So yes, any person nominating himself will get elected because they don't care, but let's not pretend that anything will work as a ministry. At best we'll go back to the start, when everyone was doing his thing.

You also have the problem of the DMLE now, I'm basically the only person in the Wizengamot.

I'm sorry, but I can't see a solution right now. You pick someone like your grandfather and you have a war with Hogwarts, because there's no way Severus will let it happen. You pick me, your grandfather will start his own war. There's so much baggage, distrust and infighting that I'm back to convincing your father to take the job back.

Perhaps that's also because we just got here. Although, we have been here now as long or longer than any of you had been when you voted Harry in. But, by arriving after that, we were presented with a fait accompli, whether we agreed or not. As it was already in place, I could go along and keep my concerns to myself. But, now that there's a chance for change, I intend to use my voice.

At the very least to stand with Theo in protest if you convince Harry to come back.

And that's why he won't come back, because even I'm not sure what's to protest, making my suggestion a moot point. Now I'm going to stop wasting my time going around in circles and go back to writing laws that no one will be able to enforce, making them worth absolutely nothing.

What, or rather who is the alternative then? I don't like Potter. He's too unstable and unsuited to be Minister. But no one is offering to take his place. No one liked the idea of no Minister at all, so we are left with a vacuum.
