Remus was not a fan of rainy Full Moons. He liked the rain any other day. But, even though it wasn't true, he always felt like the smell of wet fur stayed with him after the transformation. The damp also created a deeper ache in his already sore muscles. But, at least he didn't have to find some place to curl up and try to sleep in it this time.
He let his friends support him as they walked back to the castle, wet denim sticking to him and making walking that much more uncomfortable. He'd become self-sufficient over the years, able to force himself to get up the morning after and move, do whatever he needed to stay safe, sometimes try to keep a job. Although, the last couple of times he'd had a job to try and keep, he'd ended up fired due to suspicion of narcotic abuse due to the state he was in. But, over the last couple months, he'd tried to relax a little and let the others help because he knew it made them feel better.
Rain also had a tendency to mute the scents around him, which is why he didn't recognize Regulus immediately until they drew closer. He'd seen the shadow of someone watching at the entrance, but his brain was still somewhat pain-fogged so soon after the transformation.
"And yet still not as bad as it could have been," he quipped weakly with an attempt at his usual soft smirk. "I appreciate the offer, but are you sure you want me invading your space when you're at work? I'll be dead to the world for a few hours either way."
