"I would have been fooled, but then again last time I saw you was when you had to be carried everywhere," she joked lightly. "I'm going to guess that this Hermione is a friend of yours?"
Lily might have initially gone with 'girlfriend' when guessing about his relationship with Hermione, but the way he mentioned her name didn't set off any of the proper emotional bells for that kind of supposition. The conversation was moving on anyway, which was probably for the best. "I grew up as a Muggle, so I can understand why people might think some technology is of no comparison to magic. Although, there are quite a few Muggle musicians and bands that I enjoy more than I do some wizarding bands." Honestly, she really couldn't think of any wizarding band equivalent to The Beatles or Simon and Garfunkel. "Was it strange for you, growing up part Muggle and part magical?"
Much as she wanted to smile as he continued to detail some of his experiences, Lily was finding it hard to mask the growing apprehension she felt despite seeing Harry alive and seemingly well in front of her. To hear that he not only cast Unforgivable curses, but also that he learned there's a difference between why you choose to use one made her heart and head ache. "Well then, I suppose it's a good thing that both Severus and this Draco knew enough about the Dark Arts to make something positive out of them."
