Lily felt much better having James close enough to touch, his grip on her hand a source of comfort. She didn't want to let his hand go. The thought of being without him - and of him being without her - was enough to have her questioning if any of this was real. It had to be, regardless of how crazy it all seemed.
"Believe me, I'm still confused about that," she replied with a soft giggle. She would have to find out who here had a twin.
"You've been here that long?" She was flabbergasted, wanting to believe she would have noticed him being away from her for that long. It would not have gone over well.
"Are you saying the castle brought us here because of some sort of ministry kerfuffle? And it's what year?" Half of her wanted to press her hand to his forehead to see if he was running a fever, while the other half knew he wouldn't joke about something like this.
To think that they went from being in the midst of a war, to getting dragged back to the magical school they met at was somewhat ridiculous, but at least this didn't feel like impending doom.
"It's good that you've had Remus and Sirius here to keep you company. And Peter, I assume. Will I have to fight Sirius for the privilege of sharing a room with you?"
