Lily woke up with a start, the bold red and gold of the Gryffindor dorms snapping her into a far more awake state than she had any right being. When did she get back to Hogwarts? And why was she sleeping in a dorm room when she had a perfectly serviceable bed at home?
Sitting up slowly as she looked around, Lily pressed the heel of her hand against her forehead as she did her best to remember how she got here. And where was baby Harry? A few deep breaths were taken as she tried to center herself. Strange memories began to filter through the haze in her head; why would she ever think Peter of all people was her twin? She only had one sibling, a sister, and she hadn't spoken with Petunia in ages. The sensation of closeness she felt towards Peter was still there, as was the keen loss of parents she knew logically weren't her own. A vivid memory of flirting with someone brought a blush to her cheeks.
What would James say? Even worse, what would Sirius say?
James.
Nibbling on her lower lip as she started getting dressed, she wondered if the flirting was some game on James' part to break up the tedium of being in hiding with Harry. She honestly wouldn't put it past him; he was always rather creative when he was feeling bored. There was still the mystery of what she was doing back at school, and where her child was, but perhaps someone from the Order could fill her in.
Except, she didn't even know where to begin looking. Until a very recognizable patronus appeared in her room.
James would meet her at the Clock Tower.
There was something rather exciting about racing across the campus to find her husband. Even if she still wasn't exactly certain of what she was doing here, knowing James was near instantly made everything better. She hoped Harry was alright, and assumed James would know more than she did in regards to all that. She knew Peter was here as well, since she could remember talking with him, but she had no idea who else was here. Was James off having a Marauders reunion while she was keeping Harry? And if so, was she allowed to be mad at him?
Slowing down to a more dignified jog as she approached the meeting place, Lily would know that mop of crazy glorious hair anywhere. Not expecting to be picked up, Lily just laughed as she let her hands rest on James' shoulders. Being in his arms again felt like home, and was all she needed to let the worries drift from her mind.
"Found you, darling," she cooed even as she stared down at him. "Now, tell me everything. Why are we here? Where's Sirius? Is he here? Should I be shocked that he let you out on your own? And the others, of course."
