Who: Severus and Regulus
When: 22 February
Where: Hogwarts grounds
What: Severus' arrival
Severus wasn't sure whether to be pleased with the sudden emergence of the spines of his colleagues or irritated. Perhaps a bit of both. It was pleasing to see them actually stand up to him for once but their timing could definitely have been better. There were things he needed to do and it would have been far easier if he could have controlled the situation for just a bit longer, especially given the Dark Lord's summons. There was information that Potter needed to know before he confronted the Dark Lord, information that may well change whatever asinine plans the boy had.
He threw a glance over his shoulder towards the castle, wondering how his abrupt departure was being taken. Few people knew how to fly without a broom, in fact, as far as he knew, he might be the only one other than the Dark Lord. That wouldn't go down well.
He shook his head to clear those thoughts, knowing he needed to be on his toes when facing the Dark Lord, and startled himself by stumbling momentarily. He came to an abrupt halt and looked around. Something was... wrong. The entire atmosphere of the castle and its ground had changed. He was the Headmaster and as such, he had control and was linked to a number of wards as well as, in a strange way, the castle itself. The castle had accepted him as Headmaster. It was why the Headmaster's office had opened to him when it never had to Umbridge when she was (briefly) in charge.
But now, the castle was... somnolent. Or partially so anyway. It was awake in part and more of it was waking every second as he stood there. It should not be in that state. It should be accepting Minerva as temporary Headmistress in his absence.
He turned on his heel and strode back towards the castle. He needed to find out what was going on. The Dark Lord would forgive him... maybe. He certainly appreciated Severus' control of the castle, at least, and would hopefully want to maintain that even with what he could hope was the end in front of them. HSeverus was just getting close to the steps up to the Entrance Hall when he saw someone walk out. Someone who looked familiar but... it was impossible!
