Entry tags:character: draco malfoy, character: peter pettigrew, character: scorpius malfoy, unused: cassandra trelawney

RP: Cassandra & Scorpius
Who: Cassandra & Scorpius Malfoy
Later: Draco & Scorpius, Cass & Peter
When: Late Morning, March 10
Where: Wandering the grounds
What: Scouting a location for the new greenhouses

One of the greatest things Cassandra was enjoying about the modern era was the fact that a woman could wear trousers and no one cared. She didn't have to deal with layer after layer after layer of bullshit every morning anymore and if she didn't want to, she didn't have to wear her hair up. Gloves, outside of those for winter, had gone the way of the dodo. Dressing in the mornings was so much simpler. Although there was also a lamentable lack of deep pockets... Thankfully, the heavy cloak she had over everything else had pockets abounds and it meant she was ready to go out.

Almost immediately after breakfast, she had disappeared outside to start scouting around the grounds. She carried in front of her a Y-shaped branch from a hazel tree - a rather traditional dowsing rod though instead of hidden pockets of water (of which there were many around Hogwarts), she was seeing good spiritual energy. It probably looked very silly to anyone who saw her, watching her pace about for a minute, then hold out a stick, shake her head, and move on. The process had been going for a good hour by now and she'd made very little progress.

The land around Hogwarts was so scarred, she was almost afraid there wouldn't be a good spot. Now, she was paused and staring up at the whomping willow that hadn't been on the grounds when she was a girl. Thankfully, she was just out of reach of it so the occasional ominous creak was just the tree settling in the cold. "... Right. The other way then."

Leaving the castle and exploring was... honestly frightening to her. She exhaled heavily, feeling a shiver run through her. "The cities won't at all look the same. None of it will," at least for her. For him, there would still be some similarity, she was certain. It wasn't as big of a time difference.

Animagi. Why did that... sort of tickle something in her mind. "So what do you become then?" She had an idea. Something had kept cropping up her dreams. Tiny hands with little pink fingers. But she had thought those were bad omens, not anything else.

Alright, well, Cass might have blushed slightly, "You sing. I know it doesn't seem like magic but the plants respond to it - especially if there's magic in your blood." It likely seemed very silly to him but it worked. And if it worked and didn't hurt anyone, who cared if it was silly?

"No, I assume they wouldn't, to either of us, but they are nothing like what you remember, with cars and the tube. There are no horse carriages anymore, but machines that allow you to travel. Even the Ministry had charmed them. Oh and the Knight Bus. It was amazing. I hope we find it. It's magical and amazing."

Peter let go and stepped back. "If you laugh, I will hex you." He simply thought of Wormtail and he shrank until he became an ordinary rat. He hadn't even been able to become one of those cute one rats. He changed back. "My nickname was Wormtail. James is Prongs, Sirius is Padfoot and Remus is Moony."

He shook his head. "I don't sing or I might kill them," he said laughing. "I've got the magic. I'm not sure I can carry a tune though." He would still try if she asked though. "All right, now that we have a place, let's to back and see what we can use to build it. It's planning time."

Right, that was just a lot of overwhelming detail and she didn't want to even think about it. Though she did offer, "There've been underground trains in London since 1863." And that was long before even she was born. But the rest was a bit confusing and too much for now.

She hadn't been expecting to get a demonstration so maybe she was a little disappointed when he pulled away - only to shrink down into a wee rat much like the one that had been following her in her dreams. Instinctively, she made a slightly high-pitched, "Awww!" And as he changed back, she smiled, "If you ever want to take a nap in my pocket..."

Cassandra wouldn't ask him to sing. She suspected that a lot of that would be up to her. Maybe she wouldn't bother the Headmaster with teaching lessons and focus on the gardening instead. Or perhaps she could find the time and energy to do both. She wasn't sure yet. Either way, her hand was back in Peter's, once more flush up against his side. "Onward then. Let's be off."
