"Not appropriate because you aren't over a hundred years old or because where you're from people don't tell you that you're beautiful?" he asked, because this felt like safer ground, no different than an intellectual question posed to Binns. "OK..." He wasn't sure he understood what she was saying. "Let's start with the basics, what's your name and what's your descendant's name?" Maybe he could figure out who was the Divination professor. "And I'm Peter."
Peter had no idea what the problem with the birth rates was, because everyone seemed to be popping out kids lately unless they were dead. There were a lot of dead people. "Leave it to the Ministry to solve a problem by killing us all."
He slowly went and sat down. "Because Hogwarts like life in any form. I'm not sure that the castle is capable of forming a concrete plan other than 'we need life', so it finds life." His eyes kept straying to the moon. "You know that I'll need slightly more proof than that, right? Newspa- right there wouldn't be a newspaper. Maybe the ghosts or the Headmaster's portraits. I'm assuming that Dumbledore isn't still headmaster sixty year in the future."
