Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:rating: pg-13, supernatural: sam winchester, witch hunters: gretel, witch hunters: hansel

WHO: Hansel & Sam & Gretel
WHERE: zone 1. east by north east of the lake/river.
WHAT: in where Hansel wishes he could stop and ask for directions
WHEN: an hour after this
RATING: PG to PG-13 for possible potty mouth
STATUS: incomplete.

That worry about getting eaten by a witch was leaving.

Replacing it was this wish that Hansel actually could just stop someone and ask for directions but this ghost city wasn't very forthcoming. It was eerie, really. Familiar architect classing with something all steel and glass and just otherworldly. On top of that, the silence. Where the streets should be busy with venders and horses pulling carts, there was nothing on these strange roads made of some strange black stone. Some buildings looked utterly abandoned, to match the desolation about it, while others looked pristine and strange items stored within their window displaces. Hansel even thought he saw a bakery which made his stomach roll for more then one reason. The man had a love-hate relationships with bakeries. Bread was fucking delicious but the assaulting scent of sweets when sometimes walking into them from brownies and pies made the Witch Hunter want to throw up. Hansel wouldn't even step one foot into a candy store. A person couldn't even pay him to do it. They'd just get a punch in the nose and call it a reflex.

Keeping his back to what Hansel thought was a river, he kept walking, wondering. His eyes kept looking for clues. Over signs of shops and on the street for anything relating to Black Dog Motel. Normally, when in a new city (for Hansel viewed the size of this place as a small city), Gretel or he would stop and ask someone for directions. Though townfolk weren't keen on new people, they knew the social rules about giving directions to the closest pub or inn. What was a motel? Was that some local word for inn? Hansel bobbed his head to the side with his contemplation and kept walking straight down the road, clueless as to where he was.

Sam wasn't surprised when Hansel took off ahead of him, his desperation to find his sister was pretty evident. He couldn't exactly blame him, he'd be the same if he thought Dean was nearby. He was certain that wasn't the case though, if Dean was here he was sure they'd have found each other by now.

He quickened his pace but didn't bother trying to catch up with Hansel. He heard him yelling for his sister as he approached the building and just as he reached the front door he heard her reply. Sam made his way through the foyer, following after Hansel.

There. Hansel's head snapped to the direction of Gretel's voice and then that clattering of stone. The man rushed toward it, his rifle pointed down to the ground, "Gretel!" He called again, more to be sure. More to know it wasn't just him hearing things after she having been missing for so long and he falling into this disjointed place. Hansel was about to reach for a door when it learched and then swung open.

There. Gretel filled up the space of the door frame and Hansel was only half aware of the sound of his rifle falling to the ground beside him or the noise of relief that escaped him before he was snatching up at his sister. He pulled her fiercely, protectively into his arms and hugged her like somehow she'd just disappear from out of his arms if he even softened the slightest in his hug. One gloved hand to the back of Gretel's braided hair and one locked about her ribs, Hansel's heart thundered up his throat and about his ears. He took a deep breath of his sister, pressing his face into her shoulder as Hansel worked not to cry with relief.

Hansel didn't care that Sam was there. Completely forgetting that the man was even there as the witch hunter finally pulled his twin from out of his arms but held onto her at arm's length. Hansel's eyes quickly swept over his sister, a quiet and quick survey to make sure she was alright and everything was still intact like the last time he'd seen her. "Nothing hurt you? Everything's alright?"

One second there was nothing but hope. The next, that hope became reality and her world exploded with a sense of right again. He squeezed her so hard, as hard as she squeezed him back, cutting off most of her breath yet it felt like she'd just taken her first breath in a year. Gretel couldn't even speak; the relief was too much, and it burned behind her eyes and fell hot in trails down her cheeks.

"I'm not hurt-" she breathed, even at arm's length her half-gloved fingers curled and clung to the leather her twin wore as if he might just dissolve out from under her. "I wouldn't say everything's alright- but no, I'm not hurt." She was searching his face, his eyes, and everything down to his boots. "You? How did you find this place?"

Sam entered the room just in time to see the siblings reunited. He gave a small smile but felt a little awkward lingering in the doorway and he didn't want to intrude on what was clearly a private moment between Hansel and Gretel. He backed out into the hallway and headed back to his room, deciding that being held at gunpoint by a desperate witch hunter was probably enough excitement for one day.
