“I think he has a deep enjoyment for every part of the process,” Enlil replied, not taking the entirety of his focus off the child his sister currently had in her possession. “From initiation of pregnancy to walking and talking... and probably every step in between.”
He studied the scene before him a bit, but keeping the conversation focused on their brother. At least for the moment. “I applaud him,” he admitted, “not just for sitting still long enough to work toward this goal, but for ensuring that the new populous will inherit his charm and good looks.”
Enlil smiled gently and squatted down. “Is that where this one gets its fairness from? Our brother?” At the size and age of it, gender was a bit difficult to ascertain with certainty at a so short a look, so he felt it was safer to stay neutral on that matter. He studied the child a bit more -bright, curious eyes. Good. So small. So strange that it was with Ereshkigal. When his eyes turned back up to hers he posed a followup question, “or perhaps from you. Whose child is this, sister?”
