"Oh yes," she breathed out on a happy sigh, her enjoyment plain in her tone. "I had no idea! I'd read the hymn and I'd heard you speak, but somehow, when you put the two together, it was... it's just..." Another soft sigh escaped. "It was beautiful."
It was only then, after gushing about her reaction, that she realized his hadn't been what she'd expected. Not that Lottie kissed every person she'd met, but she was affectionate by her very nature, so it had been more than a handful. And pretty much the majority of his siblings. While some of them had blushed and gotten kind of bashful, none of them had looked as though they were afraid she'd kiss them again.
"I'm sorry," she blurted out. "I shouldn't have kissed you. I mean, not without your permission or asking or anything. I was just overwhelmed by how amazing that was, somehow when you read it aloud it almost felt like you'd written the hymn for me and my heart was so full and I didn't... I should have thought. And I am very sorry. Can you forgive me? Please?"
