Sigyn had no idea if he was still blathering away or not, because her ears were ringing. Actually ringing. She hadn't just bumped the back of her head a little bit, she had fully jerked upwards with no expectation of meeting any sort of resistance. Only to have that resistance appear in the form of a very strong slab of wood. She was cursing in a quiet stream of ongoing, and ever more creative, words that she wasn't supposed to know, let alone use.
Making her even angrier were the tears that were rolling unbidden down her cheeks. Mostly because only some of them were because she'd hit her head. Those were an involuntary reaction to the sharp pain at the back of her skull. The rest were an involuntary reaction to the pain in her heart, but she didn't want those to come out.
Did he say something? He'd said something, but she hadn't really heard. "What?"
Then, to her own horror, she sniffled. Sniffled. She hadn't meant to, but her nose was running from the tears and... Sigyn swore again.
"I hit my head," she explained, pulling her hand forward to see if there was any blood on it. It felt like there might be blood. It was tingling. "Am I bleeding?"
