There was quite a bit of information there to be dissected and sorted before Thoth was really ready to address it. Hermes had gone to see him, that he had already known. He had mistaken Seshat for a servant, he was pretty sure Seshat had mentioned there was some confusion in that regard which was actually a testament to the sort of servants they kept on staff and so he didn't see that as terribly offensive. Hermes had thought Seshat both beautiful and sexy, well, Thoth would openly admit that his wife was both of those things -the latter under more intimate and specific circumstances.
Then was the part where the young Greek spoke about making inappropriate advances toward Seshat. That was where Thoth was hung up. There had been mention of having been confusion, and perhaps some sort of awkwardness. Had Seshat mentioned this and he'd missed it while engrossed in something? It happened. It was a terrible habit of his and he knew it.
Hmm.
The advances had obviously not gone anywhere. Seshat was obviously not terribly upset about it and it seemed as soon as Hermes realized who she was he panicked and fled. “I see,” he said for a moment, thinking it over. “Obviously you did not know who she was at the time,” Thoth started, “But now you do. To err is natural and is something to be learned from, isn't it?”
