Her mother was never really a 'hugger' so the embrace was that much more special to Nike. She felt so bad now; how, why hadn't she realised this sooner, for all their sakes. She was Victory for Zeus' sake, it shoud have come to her. "I feel bad though. Saying all those things to you. I meant them yes but to say them in such a way, to just lay that all on you like that, I'm sorry for that." She would need to tell her siblings; they didn't often keep secrets anyways, not about things like this. Nike hoped it would ease their minds somewhat too.
For a bit of time, they ceased to speak and just stood there together. This was the sort of thing she missed. The thing that siblings could do and that no Olympian could replace as much and as kindly as they tried. She stood straight again and looked at her mother. "Yes it is hard, but I'm your daughter, I make it work. They do look to me and I hope I can and will guide them well."
Nike knew the truth of this, that as much as their mother may come to be here, it wouldn't be everyday, all the time. She was the oldest and it was her duty, her responsibility within the family to look out for and take care of Zelos, Kratos and Bia, her sister especially, but she couldn't forget the boys either. "I know, I will call, I promise. Your visits will always moments of joy to us. But don't you worry about us either Mother. I will look after them and we will make you proud but o one will forget who we are, whose children we are, either," she said with a smile. It wasn't shoving it in their faces, but they were not Olympians, and all the strengths and positives they had, were because of that too.
