“Oh yes,” Nyx nodded her agreement. “I think there are many others like us. And I plan to meet all of those that share my aspect, someday. Perhaps a few suns and days as well, if they can behave themselves.”
This last was said in a teasing manner, but at this point she had little worry of offending him with such gentle ribbing. After all, they had been teasing one another since they had begun their association, before they had even met face to face. Re had proved to have a fun sense of humor and Nyx was very much looking forward to introducing him to Erebos.
It occurred to her then that though she had mentioned her husband as well as her children, Re had only referenced his progeny. “I'm sorry,” she said, “I'm taking up much of your morning and after doing battle all night in the Underworld, I'm sure your wife must be worried for you. And you, certainly, must be eager to return home and see her.”
Nyx was aware that some marriages could not withstand the test of time and didn't last, but Re was such a gentleman she couldn't imagine why a wife would leave him. Nor could she fathom how someone that loved him could ever let him face his nightly trials alone. If Erebos had to do something similar, Nyx would be right beside him, doing everything in her power to keep him safe. And she was quite formidable. Where was Re's wife?
