Odin was not about to get his ire up. This woman- goddess, actually, he noted- was trying to make a point, but he saw no need to rise to her challenge. Just because he appreciated women, and they appreciated him, did not mean he just treated them like subservients.
"The Valkyries are brave, beautiful women, who know how to enjoy a man's company regardless of their standing. No man would find it insulting to be approached by one, any more than a simple barmaid might be if it had been Odin himself who made his appreciation of her figure as clearly known as I did." At this he briefly touched his eye, hoping to convey to the goddess just who it was she was tangling with.
This was what came of new religions. A skewed view when a man had the audacity to compliment a woman. Perhaps it was a tad vulgar, but no disrespect had been intended. Back in Asgard, such an action would have granted him a smile, and possibly more.
"None appreciate the finer sex more than he does. They may bring him great pleasure on occasion, but he knows how truly strong they can be, and how little he would be able to accomplish without them. I have heard Frigg is a force to be reckoned with on her own. He treats her with honor as well as love."
