Erebos smiled at his girls. All of them. He may not of fathered Hel, but he considered her one of his own. Circumstances as they were with her true father, he hoped she knew Darkness would willingly step in if she ever needed him.
He had not been worried about Philotes’ reaction to their guest. She welcomed everyone with open arms. The smile from Styx, however, was a welcome surprise. She rarely smiled at anyone that wasn’t family. The best thing to do was to not draw attention to it. If Erebos knew his daughter, he was certain the smile would disappear the second anyone mentioned it. Darkness looked at his daughter, letting her see the pride he felt in his eyes.
“As your mother said, we invited Hel to join us for dinner,” he said, letting his daughters know why the Norse goddess was with them. “We would be very pleased if you would join us as well. We had been hoping to introduce Hel to some of our children and you two are the best.”
That was something he said to all of his children. They all knew he did it, but they also knew he always meant it. To him, his children were the best. He would admit that Philotes was the best to have with them for situations like this. Darkness just hoped that Styx would not have to gag her sister through the entire meal.
“We should make our way to dinner. It may take some time to find the dining room.”
