Djeheuty was pleased. So pleased that a bright, toothy grin formed on his face and he couldn't contain it. She was a smart little thing, perhaps she didn't have all the knowledge of the universe in her, but there was a cleverness at how she pieced together what he had said and made sense of it, coming to the eventual right conclusion. Brilliant.
“That is correct!” He said to emphasize his delight at her response.
He set the rest of his honey cake down. “And that is very good. Learning is something we should never stop doing. Even I, who am considered wise by some, learn new things every day.” He folded his hands together. “Today, for example, I have learned about the wonder and delight that comes with a creative mind.” Djeheuty was referring to, of course, Bast's interpretation of the parchments she found and puzzled together into a story.
“If you ever want to know anything, anything at all, you have but to ask. If it's not in here,” Djeheuty pointed to and then tapped his forehead, “ then it is probably on one of these.” His hand then gestured to the room around them. “And, if it is not there either, well, we can just investigate and learn something new together.” He really was quite happy with this bit of serendipity. Nothing could have prepared him for finding this child in his temple today.
