“Is it?” He asked in both amusement and curiosity. Djeheuty knew what the scrolls actually said, of course, but it was far more fun to watch her try to dissect them on her own. One thing he had learned from when Aset and her siblings were young was that if left to their own devices in coming up with an answer, they usually weren't far off from the truth. Oh sure, it was littered with the sort of fascinating turns and imaginings only children came up with and that alone was of enough interest for him to encourage it, but it was usually correct in some degree.
Djeheuty made a bit production of looking from her to the scrolls, back and forth a few times and then scratched his chin a bit more. “Hmm. Even with as tall as I am, I cannot see it all from here. What do you see, Bast? What sort of story is it?”
What he was hoping for was something fun an imaginative, something that fit into the way she saw the world. Not only would it foster her creativity, independence and thirst for knowledge... it would give him a little insight on this small wonder. He was going to have to visit Aset sometime soon and inquire about her newly acquired child.
“Tell me what it says,” he requested with great enthusiasm that was not even remotely forced. He was very eager to see what her mind came up with.
