“Ok yeah,” Loki rolled his eyes, “and just where do you propose we go, exactly?” He didn't even care that the throbbing pain had returned to his rear and shot down his leg. He knew damn well that she was right and that there was no way he was going to be able to walk back to Asgard, with or without a crutch. He needed to rest for a week or so, and as much as he tried to convince himself he could manage the wound on his own, he knew damn well that wasn't the case. He couldn't see it properly to be sure it wasn't dirty or festering.
As much as he hated to admit it, Loki needed help. He tried to think of various options of places to go, none of them were very good. They could stay in Jotunheim and go to his ex-wife's cottage. It didn't matter that it was tacky to do so, Angrboda probably had everything that would be needed to treat the wound. But her company was terrible and she would instigate fights just because she could, plus Loki had no idea how she would treat Sigyn and no matter how much Sig annoyed him sometimes she didn't deserve that. His ex-wife was a shrew. Which is why she was an ex.
There was Muspell as an option. But then he would want to go to Lauer and while his mother would be perfectly hospitable, as well as helpful, Loki feared his mother would get the wrong impression about him having a woman with him at her house. He'd never brought anyone female with him to his mother's before. The only reason Laufey knew his first wife was because of their proximity to each other. And then there was the problem of Glut and his daughters with her. Or worse... Farbauti, the vile rapist asshole that he was. So, those places were out.
And, the more he thought about it, the less worried he was about Odin knowing than he was everyone else. After all, as far as Loki knew, Odin had yet to tell anyone about Sleipnir's true parentage. It wouldn't have taken a genius to put the pieces together -though apparently it did because no one seemed to say anything to him about it, and thankfully, Asgard was not overrun with geniuses.
Then a different thought struck him. “You could probably just leave me here, Sig, I'll call for... someone. I'm sure Frigg is going to notice you missing...”
