He turned his head in the direction of the voices. What in creation were the jotuns doing coming this way now? Had they decided they wanted her back after all? Not that it mattered, they weren't always logical. Loki heard Sigyn say they should run, even met her eyes for a moment, and he considered briefly remaining and letting her get a decent enough head start away from her former captors as he distracted them. His mind quickly shifted from that notion the second he saw them coming closer. And one had a bow.
A bow?
Had he been armed like that before? Loki really wasn't sure but he wasn't about to stick around right now to find out if the jotun intended to use it. He ran. It didn't take long for four paws to catch up to Sigyn only running on two legs.
Faster. He said to her while snapping at her ankles for incentive. Go. Go. Go.
Loki didn't hear it coming, didn't see it coming, maybe should have anticipated it and didn't, but suddenly there was a sharp pain in his hindquarters. Sharp enough that he yelped and stopped moving foward, crashing downward into the earth instead. Then the sharp pain turned into a throbbing white hot pain that surged through the entirety of his lupine form. When he turned back to look, there was an arrow sticking out of his flank.
