Oh, he was playing it that way, was he? Glaring clearly wasn't her weapon of choice in this particular situation. Determination flooded her system instead. Bragi knew exactly what she was talking about. Idun saw that clearly in his smirk. She was beginning to realize that smirk could mean anything, and even though that was dangerous, even though that meant Idun's assumptions could be wrong, she was certain sometimes was happening right now. The sneaky lying scoundrel! "Stop smirking," she said, but there was no fire in her tone. The only thing that Idun was in that moment was playful. She decided she'd get him to admit he remembered that kiss. Eventually.
For now, there was dancing. Idun hadn't been looking at Bragi in the hope of catching his reaction to her dance, but that was what ended up happening. Something had changed in Bragi as the music started up, but something else seemed to change now. Idun didn't know what, but it made her feel cherished and beautiful and her smile was almost bashful for a few fleeting moments. As quickly as she sheepishly looked at the ground, Idun glanced back at Bragi, his instrument was stolen, and his arms were around her. This was how it was supposed to be, after all.
Tens of thousands of years ago, or however long it had actually been when Bragi and Idun first danced, it was around each other. Idun hadn't let him close enough to take her hand and touch her back, but now they were finally doing it, finally dancing, and the promise of forever stretched before them. Idun sighed happily, listening as Bragi hummed the notes she'd robbed the other musicians of. Idun couldn't be made to care. This was its own form of music. The skalds would understand. "I promise," she whispered, smiling softly. She could promise him a thousand dances, a thousand kisses, a thousand nights spent holding each other and smiling. They had forever, she could feel it. Idun continued to sway, and then she realized something, and it was her turn to lean up so her words fell as a whisper in Bragi's ear.
"I'm sorry I kept you away from home for so long, Bragi."
