He didn't want to pull away. Bragi had waited so long that it only seemed fair for time to stop in that moment, and hold it forever. Most notes would stop becoming music eventually if you held them long enough, but Bragi didn't know about this one. It took his breath away, but it was a different kind of drowning. It wasn't like drowning at all, because his lungs weren't what was on fire, and it didn't kill him. It woke him up. It woke him up, then woke him up again, and Bragi realized that the only real life that existed was the one where she was right there. He couldn't drown with her, because she was made out of life. His life. Which was a terribly poetic thought that Bragi would have to write down the next time he got the chance.
He didn't want to pull away, but he did. If time stopped when they kissed for the first official time, then Bragi could only kiss her once. He wanted to kiss her more than that. Her heart made prettier beats than his. Bragi kissed her again. “No I didn't” Bragi said, “They were in the orchard. You started it.” He smirked. They were kissing a third time, and he couldn't tell who started it anymore. Actually, he could. They. They started it. Somehow they had become a 'they.' Somehow a broken bard and a broken apple maiden made one whole when put together. He fixed her blindness. She fixed his hand.
The name Jondi had always reminded him a little of 'jaundice', but Bragi wasn't going to tell Idun that. It was her fault that he couldn't use another one. He wasn't sure they had that word 'jaundice' yet anyway. Not that way. Bragi laughed. “It's a replaceholder name. It doesn't have any meaning until you replace it. I like the J sound though.” He smiled and since her forehead was touching his, and they were so so close, Bragi looked for the trees in the forest in her eyes and found soul instead. “What should her name be?” he asked. He didn't actually have a name decided on for either character yet. Two replaceholder names. One which may or may not have been Jondi.
They kissed one more time, then Bragi pulled away. He relaced his fingers in her hand. “Now I'll walk you home.” he said.
