Thor, then. Thyone didn’t know if utilizing his first name would come easily or not but already given permission, then she would try. Obviously in her distraction she had missed his staring, or she might have said something… perhaps. Though always unfailingly polite, she took no issue in teasing others… as long as she was sure that they would view it as the light mischief it was meant to be, and not as an invitation to a fight. The very prideful often did not take well to even gently poked fun. Their hubris got in the way.
“Agreed. I expect she will not be pleased…” With Thor, probably. While Thyone had never run into trouble with the wildlife, neither had she made overtures to overly familiarize herself with it. Still, they seemed to recognize her none the less as belonging to the area, perhaps by scent, seeing as when times were difficult up in her supernal home she so often retreaded to that very spot, nearly living there sometimes, in the open. It was not the most ideal of situations but at times circumstances called for a swift retreat to any haven, somewhere she could not be found.
The gray pup took a fall on clumsy forelegs, chubbily well-fed, and rolled out of the bush even as Thyone drew back, removing her hold on Thor’s sleeve. She smiled at it, finding the animal’s childish clumsiness endearing as so many did. It even seemed to vaguely realize with a panic that something had gone wrong with its plan to watch them secretly and turned around, squirming back under the bush, presenting an off-gray backside. Thyone covered her mouth with one hand to laugh quietly, mindful of a possible furious wolf mother being around as much as she suspected animals possessed an underestimated intelligence and could very well recognize when they were being laughed at. Who said gods and mortals were the only ones capable of being offended?
Once they were safely away as not give the wolf mother a reason to feel her pup had been threatened, Thyone stopped and turned to look at him, having to tilt her head to do so. Which was something of a new experience, aside from a few notable exceptions such as Kratos and Horkos, there were not many very tall people on Olympus that she had to look up to. “I am sorry. It was not a wolf den the last time I was here.” How fast things could change in a few weeks. Hopefully the deer hadn’t been eaten but if they had, well, alas. That was the way of life. A she-wolf carrying a litter had to eat in order to take care of her offspring.
Thyone noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and naturally turned towards it, seeing a second wolf pup head pop up from the doorway of the temple. She didn’t think much of it, was merely observing it after apologizing to the god beside her, but then the pup made a very definite beeline for them, utterly fearless, trotting in their direction as if it expected them to play with it. Or feed it.
“Oh, my.” Was all she managed to say with surprise and a frown at the animal’s odd behavior. Yes, of course, a part of her divine essence had always lived in the temple and always would until the ground was desecrated and her connection with it irreparably broke, and if they had been born in those walls perhaps the pups sensed an affinity with her that had nothing to do with something as mundane as her scent being normal. Perhaps. Though she never would have entertained such a foolishly romantic notion if a wolf pup hadn’t been heading their way without an iota of shyness or fear. “Alright, no, that isn’t— no. Back to your den, right now.” She said sternly, not caring if Thor thought her crazy for addressing a wolf pup like a wayward, misbehaving child.
